Flying with DVD's

Have you ever flown with your DVD's and their accessories? Looking to fly soon and am wondering what to do with them.

A no no if you're traveling overseas, and still a very bad idea on domestic flights.

I haven't done it, but the old keyster hole I hear is hard to beat. Barring an orifice check that is.

If you'll be there a while, it may be safer to get where you're going, and have your dvd's shipped to you from a pal back home, or even one of the many domestic sponsors of the board.

Well, total time is only a week, continental... I'm wondering if it's even worth it. Just watch them before I leave and leave it at that.

either watch the day of ur flight or if its domestic just priority whatever u want to your hotel and watch them there

If domestic flight check the dvd's, buy accessories at your destination and you should be fine.

When i used to work in consulting as a computer programmer. I would pack everything up nice like i would receive my foreign films from my dvd distributor and then just mail it to myself at my destination hotel.

Never had a problem. Not worth the risk of actually carrying them on in my opinion.

make sure you do not have any metal, aka foil, or aluminum within the dvd case, or anything sharp.

I will tell you I had my HRT meds (Andro) in a box, with my name on it, and 2 vials of test prescribed from my doc without my name on it (just the lab name) in the same box and they pulled it out and inspected it. I have all original boxes and scripts for it but it just goes to show you how good they are at checking. This was a domestic flight by the way.

Nope. Only TSA locks are recommended. If security wants to see in your checked bag after screening it, they will open it, even if it means breaking your non TSA lock. It happened to a friend of my wife.

No its not worth it if its injects. Just inject right before you leave to the airport. Maybe up the dosage a little.
Tabs are easy to put in other medicine containers.

if your really wanting to do it my only idea would be to fill slin pins up and then maybe have a blood sugar monitor and all the diabetic crap in a little case and put that in your carry on hell i dont know i think its a bad idea to risk it

well, i have a friend..

flew home from the middle east, had some sus250 amuples and some satchels. Made it thru ok. even made it thru the complimentary security pat down in dulles. 4 check points, no problems, but.. why risk it tho, idk.

The responses gave me a lot to chew on. I will admit that the "risk-taker" side of me is a bit game, HOWEVER, upon further reflection of what is really important and what it is that make me "me", I can do a week without my DVD's, really, c'mon! I have a family and I agree, just not worth it, I'm not a pro trying to make a living off this.

I agree, I can watch a movie that morning and by the time I get back it'll be perfect time for another movie.

Caps should be no prob. Just stick them in an ala or vitamin C bottle. Tabs be careful on but if only a few you can mix em up with a bunch of vitamins and shouldnt be a big deal. Oils, not gonna work and not worth it. mail em to your location.
