going out to clubs

I dont go out much because everytime I go out to clubs I get all these fucking nasty looks from all the wanna be hardasses..and somebody always wants to prove how tough they are and try and kick the shit out of a bigger guy..so I just avoid the whole thing.. but last weekend my girl got me to go out with here and her friend and her boyfriend whos on the football team but was not a typical cocky jock..anyway..we go out to all the clubs and we drink all night and the whole time I am just throwing down money paying for our drinks (me and my girls) and by the end of the night I was out $70..now that may not sound like much but damn I dont know if any of you guys go out to clubs alot but damn I could not make a habbit of doing that..I guess we should have just got beer or a bottle before we went out but I guess my girls firend is to rich for that..lol...not me..

When I was younger and into clubs (I'm 26 now, but used to club when I was 17-21) my favorite pre-club drink was a 32oz Slurpee filled halfway and the rest was Bacardi 151. I'd sip on it in the back of my buddies Jeep and by the time we got to the Clubs I was feeling mighty fine.

When I turned 21 I stopped drinking though....yes it's weird, but I started drinking when I was in 5th grade. I've had enough.

funny how that happens, I'm just about to turn 23 and I can definately say that since I turned 21 my drinking has just been getting less and less, probly once every couple weeks by now

|--[\\\\]>--------- Well back in the midwest, i started bouncing basically right when i started colleage (20 or so) and got everything comped...at my bar for sure, but when i went to other bars, everyone recognized me and didn't get charged for a single thing. i worked in the bar biz. for 7 yrs. b4 moving out west here and i NEVER once paid a cover charge or paid for a drink...now i don't go out here 1) don't drink/sick of drunk ppl from working at a bar so long 2) i dont have any connections at all and would have to start paying for stuff...and everyone thing out here is WAY more expensive than back home!

Very interesting!!!

Most that started drinking early, quit early. I started at age 16 and by the time I was 21/22 I just got tired of getting sick and waking up hungover. Just consiously made the decision it was stupid to waste my money that way. I've occaisionally had "a" drink but not very often. When I was split from my wife, I went to clubs but always ordered juice.

Hell I was a weekend warrior until age 38 or so; I was single (had some long term relationships but we went out to clubs too)
and loved it. I dont know how I did it. Now 2-3 drinks on newyears threw me for a loop and I was all burned out the next day. I may have a couple every 3mo or so. Id rather be clear-headed and feeling good. Plus I now train on weekend mornings, so at age 45 I cant go out partying the night before that and expect to be worth a shit for lifting.

It pretty weird how mostly everyone here started drinking early and stopped in their 20's. Up to about 17 I drank like an alchoholic, id even bring liqour with me to school. Id also do shit like acid and dust and smoked alot of pot...thanks god thats over. Sometimes I wish I could go back and kick the shit outta myself. Now I just have some red wine every now and then.

Amen to that. I used to be a complete fuck-up. Now (23 yrs old) I stay away from drugs and alcohol, and am a senior in aerospace engineering. Other people I know are still fucking around like they're kids, getting wasted every day or two..

i used to go to a top ranked party school in norcal ( Chico state) and u know after 2 years of the shit it gets old. I started drinking with my football boys in 8th grade and i still drink a beer or two with my rugby friends. I gues drinking holds no particular alure to me any more.

I can totally relate to the "getting looks from the wanna be hard asses" I am a really nice laid back guy in person and the only fights I have ever been in were necessity fights. And every time I go out someone starts shit with me for "being a hard ass" cant a guy take pride in his looks and be musclular without being a hardass?? that drives me nuts to no end.
My girl and I went to a Blackalicious concert last week at the Sundance film festival and we ended up leaving after about an hour because we both were getting so much negative attention. Its really too bad that so many people are so insecure these days.
ANother instance, I went to the club with all my friends on my lifting buddy and we were there for 10 mins and these guys were doing mock poses saying "I lift all day long, and im a meathead" it didn't bug me so much but my other buddies that dont lift were all hot and they said something to them and the guy hands out his "sparring card" whatever the hell that is and says if me and my buddy want to go outside he would love to show us whats up.
WTF IS THIS?? SOme guy wants to prove he can whip 2 guys that are bigger than he is.. We just want to play pool, and chill we weren't even being loud just minding our own biz. GOD I really would have liked to go outside though. Im not saying im the best fighter but that kid better hope I dont get a hold of him cause I will break whatever I get.

AHHH this kills me.

im not huge by any means, about 225 at my peak im 215 now, but i look pretty decent. i havent had too many problems going out fortunately. here in missouri it seems there are quite a few big guys that go out, so its not like anything no one has seen before.

i went out to california a few months ago, i was surprised i thought there would be moire big guys there, i didnt see one guy bigger than me. im not saying that there isnt big guys tehre, i just thought from everything you hear that there would be big guys all over. also i was in so. cal around lagoona, huntington, seal beach, i went all over around those areas.

I hate the assholes that go out just to ruin someone elses night.

I just keep low profile and wear some XXL clothes...although my shirt did get ripped off by the last guy I got in a fight with. But like some said on here they were fights that happened to help out a friend.

I am usually too high on crack to spend money when I go out to the clubs. So it's a lot cheaper that way. j/k
I usually sip diet coke. Sometimes we'll go out with another couple and the broads sneak in a 1/2 pint then excuse themselves to the restroom every so often. That cuts down on the old bill. Since, I am a homebody, this is about once a month if I'm lucky.
