or great big liar. He was on Howard Stern today, he came across like a nice guy and smarter than I thought. The 47 year old said that he only sleeps 3-4 hours a night and only eats ONE meal a day, usually a salad and a bowl of soup- doesn't ever eat meat. Still says he doesn't lift weights, still just 2,500 push-ups and sit-ups a day. He played pro football for 15 years and is still healthy enough to train MMA- he's fighting on jan 30th. Personally, I believe him on all counts, he is just a 1 in a billion genetic freak.

Yea I seen he signed with Strikeforce. Cant wait to see him fight!

Great that he can GET AWAY with that. Seems lazy and uneducated to me.

Imagine if he ate, slept, and trained correctly.

I don't believe him one bit about the eating part, the training doesn't sound right either... He has created this persona that he has to maintain of being some sort of demi-God... So, he will continue to lie about it and to be honest it doesn't really matter. Im sure his family knows the real story and just laughs about Herschel's lies...

I never said he was poor or a bad business man.

I'm commenting on the fact that he was a professional athlete who didn't seem to give a shit about training, eating, or resting properly... OR he implies that he doesn't when he really does, which sends a shitty message to kids.

I'm guessing he sure as hell used his athlete money to start the poultry company. Imagine how much more he could have done if he ate well, trained intelligently... etc. He would have been an even bigger public figure, set more records, made more money, all leading to more things.

Michael Jordan makes more money and employs more people off the field than on. He was a hard worker both on AND off the field. That's why people still talk about him. I think I heard somewhere that at his peak, he was one of the biggest economic boosts for Chicago ever. Pretty cool stuff.

Again, just saying "what if". That's all.

One of the coolest quotes I've heard in a while is... "Hard work beats talent when talent refuses to work hard."

Wait, Wait, Wait, I know!!!! He's a complete liar, eats 4,000 calories a day, and take 3+grams of anabolics and test per week right!? Thats what this is going to turn into.....

Nobody brought up drugs until you did.

I don't think he ever took drugs. I just don't think he ever took good advice of trainers. Guys that were his equal on the field probably had to work twice as hard to get there. That's all.

Oh yea, I forgot that he also said his bodyfat was measured at 1% years ago! I'm most skeptical about that one. Someone just measured wrong and he just went with it.

Jordan has a reputation off the court of being lazy and spending his time in casinos and on golf courses now that his playing career is over. Also, name one business Jordan owns. He is an endorser for Nike and an employee of the Charlotte Bobcats and minority owner (figurehead).

Herschel Walker is an amazing specimen of a man and a true genetic freak. I don't care what his regimen is, to look how he does at his age is nothing short of amazing. Walker was one of the greatest college football players ever and had a heck of a pro career.

Did it ever cross your mind that not everyone puts their self worth in how big and strong they are? I enjoy this board but you guys can be so short sighted its unreal.

First of all, when he played ball I gurantee he didn't just eat salad.

Second of all, if he doesn't need supplements or food then he has a leg up on ALL OF US....Including you Big D

Third of all, this dude in his 20's could outlift most people on this board.....
And we are bodybuilders! This dude is just an all-around stud. Period

Trainer Javier Mendez, whose American Kickboxing Academy is renowned for producing MMA champions, acknowledged he was initially skeptical about the idea of training Walker.

"I thought someone like him shouldn't be fighting at this stage," Mendez said Tuesday. "But once I saw him, I was amazed. His explosiveness, his cardio, his willingness to learn I don't think anybody could have done it other than him."

Nagy, 26, sports a 1-1 record in MMA, both coming at Rage in the Cage events in Arizona.

Allan Fields, chief physician for the Florida Boxing Commission that also oversees MMA sanctioning, said Walker passed the "most strenuous tests that possibly you can impose on an athlete."

A stress test on Walker's heart given by a "major cardiac institution," Fields said, produced the highest score of anyone ever tested by facility.

Nothing personal Big Dave, i'm just poking fun at the fact that threads about unusually gifted athletes usually get dumbed down into "He must be on" threads.

I don't believe he eats only a soup and salad a day with owning poultry business. :D

He may be only doing sit-ups and push-ups now, but when he played ball he lifted. Its part of your teams training program no way out of it.

Should be interesting on how he does.

He started his own poultry company that is now worth over 200 million dollars and employs over 800 people.

I wish I was that lazy and uneducated....

Could be one of his personalities. He has DID. I have watched some of his interviews from the past. So it makes sense why he can be very successful and do other things as well that weren't very intelligent such as playing Russian roulette because he thought it was a competitive game.

he has many 'feats' that have been documented, I saw him place 2nd in the 200m in the goodwill games, and his running form is completely unorthodox, i've also read his workout book, it may be only pushups and situps and running but it's still brutal. when they tested him in the combine he bench pressed 375, but had supposedly never touched free weights before. His muscles also look very strange and different from anything i've seen. In the time trials for bobsledding, he broke the dryland world record on his first try, unfortunately, he was too heavy for the sled so the team didn't place well.

Yeah I heard about his multiple personalities.... I read somewhere that his personality changes happened rather often too, and so you could never tell, "which Herschel you were going to meet." I wish I could remember where I read that, but it was years ago...

Also, name one business Jordan owns.

He owns a superbike satalite team. Jordan Suzuki. Rider is Aaron Yates. They wear the NC baby blue colors. Thats all I got for ya.

Edit: As for Walker... When I'm on his level Ill talk negative about him. Until then Ill just stay in my lane.
