LK3, thanks for sharing your experiences/info regarding Rhodiola Rosea!

I've tried it before but never been on it for a few mobths, I'm going to give it a shot now.

Would you mind going into your dosage progression? Perhaps your reasoning behind it?

Were you very gradual or did you jump up to a high dose rather quickly?

You ocassionally go up to 2g, when out of your other supps, if I recall correctly?

I'm a big advocate for marijuana as well. Especially combining marijuana edibles (30-40mg) with the sensory deprivation tank

i started with what i did whit rho a long time ago n was trying to figure out better info for ya but got lost n really its been a while! lol

i have more recently stopped taking rho, i do keep it on hand.
from my perspective what i did kinda "worked" as i i had an idea tried it kept at it a long time and stopped when it became ineffective.

am i "better" lol:confused::eek::banghead:

in some ways yes.

i started with rigs caps
rhodiola, idebenone, grapes seed extract. 2-4 ed for the first while
i think the caps were 200/100/200 though not 100% sure

lots of other stuff in the mix too, there is quite a bit of synergy in some of this. idb, rho, theanine for example.

i introduced theanine around same time starting smaller like 400mg doses

over a 2 year period i increased, until another 2-4 years and was in the mega dosing area.

i stopped as the combo felt like it was starting to irritate or enduce mania.

it sure was no longer helping. lol

there were a few times when i stopped, health and head went to shit other things involved in that though. :rolleyes:

psoiasiss flared bad at those times.

head stuff and psoriassis stuff are connected in my opinion

both things are now basically better and do not take a large portion of what i was taking, hence hwy i say it "worked":lightbulb:

people can react very differently to this stuff and should be extremely careful, go slow, try to be safe.

by some medical theories these sort of combos could enduce "serotonin syndrome" i never ran into things like that, i do have to warn you, that theoretically its possible.

i am clearly wired pretty differently! :D

Some say that the salidroside and tyrosol are the compounds that are actually active in rhodiola. There's a nootropic vendor called Ceretropic who offers an isolated salidroside/tyrosol sublingual liquid. I might try that once my current supply of rhodiola runs out.

Interesting.... I've bought from ceretropic several times in the past (selank & semac nasal spray) But I mostly buy from nootropicsdepot, regularly. You buy from ceretropic often? What do you buy, if so?

Can't remember noticing a signifcant effect from the nasal sprays. Perhaps my body/brain chemistry wasn't complementary towards it or other supps/drugs I was taking at the time we're inhibiting the effects...
Not really. I experimented with the semax and selank as injectables a couple of years ago. The semax I liked. It's just pricey and I decided to drop it.

Rhodiola helped me in many ways but I stopped taking it because it made me pretty damn irritable. Was hard sometimes to control my temper.

But holy crap its one of the best things for my energy and aggression in the gym. My endurance went thru the roof quite fast, almost immediately the first day I started it. I noticed I wanted to do more and more sets without feeling tired. The difference is night and day.

I may implement it back into my lifting days again after reading this thread and remembering how I did not get tired at all in the gym lol. Just one dose in the morning lasted me all day.

Pretty crazy stuff for being so effective and not having any withdrawal when I stopped
 
I guess I'm a non-responder, bc I have a variety of brands and truly can't tell a difference. It doesn't help with energy, at least for me

Okay, I'll probably give life extension a shot.
Learning and believing a lot of info from Charles Poliquin, he recommended cycling foods, fish oils. I've taken that principle and applied it to other supps, we'll see what difference there is between life extension and biotest.

Ill probably alternate between the brands week by week or maybe month by month...

For me, I can't take it later in the day bc it gives me insomnia. It's never felt like a caffeine type energy. I used to think it wasn't worth taking but once I stopped I could tell
 
I use it a week on a week off , tolerance stays relatively low when I do that. I used it for 4-5 weeks straight and I noticed I had to increase dosage. Every day or 2 to get the desired effect.

Certain brands also affects me differently. It gives me a sense of well being and makes me content and motivated. I like to pair it with ashwaghanda root.


I recently just found a brand that mixes CBD with other supplements. Like CBD With ashwaghanda , turmeric , rhodiola , co-q 10 and alot others , trying the ashwaghanda mix right now.

Big fan of rhodiola here. Good amount of evidence for energy, cognition, and well being. Definitely not something to take at night though.
 
I have worked the graveyard shift for many years ans rhodiola has been in my arsenal for years. I don't use it on my days off.
