if our bodies cannot process corn, how come so many bb'rs eat grits?

just curious if anyone knows the answer. Our bodies are not supposed to be able to process corn, but aren't grits made from corn?
 
i know why we eat them in the south. one word..... DELICIOUS!

What would be the reason? I've never heard of it! :confused:

All I know is that personally I digest corn much much much better than oats, another BB's favourite food. :)
 
Chew the corn...........when you dont then it becomes a problem.

A matter of enzymes then.

I guess it only applies to raw corn, Phil, not processed food such as corn cakes... or pop corn?
 
Corn is like any other food with fiber, much of it will get absorbed while the fiber and roughage will just bypass as 'bulk.'

You have to watch out for girls who swallow corn and don't chew----sometimes it ends up on your chin.:eek:
 
because we can, that's why. It's funny, non-Southerners seem to be scared of grits, maybe they think it will make them talk like us:D (which would be a drastic improvement):p

this is why farmers feed their animals "cracked" corn. its been run through a grinder to break the outer hull of the seed open to ease digestion.
 
How do you know you are not processing the corn, have you seen it again on the way out?:)
