Mix warm water with Protein Powder

Does anyone else do this besides me? To me it taste/blend better. If its cold it tends to clump up and when a clump goes down the throat, I almost puke everytime. I use TP protein and it blends really well with little water. Just curious...

Yoiu are 100% right it does mix sooo much better. I think i have some mental block against it though, i can't bring myself to do it unless there is absolutely no cold water anywhere.
 
What do you do as far as flavor for yours? Do you use the flavor packs or something of your own making? If it's flavor packs which do you like? I'll have to try that warm water trick, but just from the sound of it I think I might be with NotSo, sounds like it might make me gag a bit. :D
 
I just drink plain not added flavor. Since its such a small amount I just chug, like 4oz. I dont make it too hot just luke warm. Would you drink hot chocolate cold, no it taste better warm.
 
Food for thought.............

I read a post on here by Emeric. He was talking about the digestion process and what not. There were alot of useful tips. This thread brought to mind a few things he had put in his thread. 1. Food will digest better if it is at or close to our body's tempurature. He suggested allowing food to warm to room temperature before eating and digesting. 2. He also stated for protein drinks to be better utilized and digested that they should be mixed with room temp water, and made as thick as possible. Possibly even pudding thick, so as to be eaten with a spoon. Don't know if this is something you would be willing to try. :)

Just something to think about.
 
That sounds absolutely horrible! Trying it is one thing, but to even consider the thought of taking protein this way the rest of my life makes me want to cry! :(
 
Don't miss the point of shakes it's for convenience and over complicating the process of water+powder=a protein shake makes it less convenient therefore differing away from the purpose. I don't think the difference is that large that it would make or brake my shake.

Thats a good point. I was just throwing that out there. I wouldn't do it though. :D When i make my shakes though i make them fairly thick. 8 oz of water with 90-120(3-4 scoops)grams of whey.

great point, it probably would be preferable to have 10 oz. of steak chicken 4 times per day instead of 4 shakes.......it's just not convenient. so if you're going to take the convenience out, then you might as well do whole food.
 
I shake mine up with warm water then drop in enough ice cubes to get it just slightly cool. Usually 3-4 ice cubes will do the trick.
 
On a buddies recommendation, I tried mixing my protein with hot coffee. I used chocolate protein, milk, and coffee. it tasted pretty good.
 
Make it decaf coffee - caffeine inhibits mTOR which is the protein synthesis signal in the body.

really, do you have a link to any research about this? I was wondering if the hot coffee would cause the protien degrade, but i didnt think about the absorption.
