I wonder what you would say if your mother was driving that car and someone walked out in front of her .....interesting........how objective can you be now? Picture your mother driving and your father walking in front of the car..........tragic huh? Lock mom up for 10 years? How about 30 days, lifetime liscence suspension, 3 million to your pocket, 2 years house arest, 6 years probation, 1000 hours community service, drug counselling, suspended form work for who knows how long............is that enough? Seriously.....tell me it is not enough......tell me.

What did the plea bargain tell you? Yes, I agree that people with more $ get off easier......of course........although not financially.

That's relative to net worth. If your net worth is $10,000,000 and you get fined $2,000,000 you're still a multimillionaire. A $2000 fine for the same tortious act wouldn't seem like a lot of money in comparison, but it would make my life much more difficult in comparison to the $2,000,000 that would be charged to someone who currently has $10,000,000. Thus, in this respect they get off much easier financially. Regardless, if I had committed the same crime in the same way and confessed with the same integrity I would get fined a great deal more money relative to net worth and years in prison, this assumption is as close to an absolute guarantee as a guarantee could approach absolute.

Any one that knowingly gets behind the wheel and his drunk, already commited a crime. To get 30 days for taking an innocent life is appalling. Jaywalking?? This happens all the time in California, but I am not drunk to notice it and stop. IMO, At least 2-5 years should have been given. I feel sorry for the family of this idividual, that got killed. May they RIP.
