Ok so this has nothing to do with bodybuilding but i gotta get this out haha. Still excited. Im sure you have all seen my video's of his lifting progress on here getting ready for wrestling season. Well....

As im sure most of you know NJ is one of the TOP wrestling states in the country and one of 3 that only have ONE state champ per weight, so its ROUGH to place to say the least! Anyway....

Last weekend he knocks off the 3rd ranked wrestler in the state at his weight class (152) with a 6-3 win in the finals. Kid placed in states last year at that weight (my bro came up 2 weights) and is also a very experienced senior expected to be a contender for the title this yr.

Tonight he takes out the 6th ranked wrestler, also a state placer from last season. Not only does he CRUSH him with a double, but he just muscles up 2 claw lifts and throws him to his hip both times almost getting backs (kid was just too good to go to his back) with raw POWER completely out of position.. guess those deadlifts helped! haha.

GOOD MOOD TONIGHT! :D :D :D

if digital sports puts up a video il post it!

I will always love freestyle/folkstyle wrestling and attribute it to my easy transistion into MMA ... I was fortunate enough to train with collegiate state champions and NCAA qualifiers. Nothing like a double leg freight-train on a striker and then bouncing him on his head.
Good luck to your bro's future!
Wrestling may be the only other sport closely resembling bodybuilding in discipline, hard work, nutrition/starvation and being all alone when its time to put foot to ass!

Headline and after the page loads scroll down to the match video's for 152 :D

Kids got talent.

You have alot to be proud of.

ha phil the more you post of your brother the less i think of you..LOL

your brother is a fucking beast bro, very good wrestler, im impressed, i would love to meet your lil bro one day.

Phil -

I'm sure you have seen some of my posts regarding wrestling. I wrestled most of my life through prep school/high school/college. I also coached for a little while for a high school team in Arizona.

I came from the Midwest and my state only has one champion per weight class as well. It was very tough as you may never get to wrestle a guy until the finals and you know nothing about him. If he wins a title as a sophmore thats impressive. So.......Here is the deal ->

If he wins a state title this year, I will send you (to give to your little brother) a tub of protein of his choice. It could be a 10lb container or whatever he likes/wants. Just let me know and if we carry it I will ship it to you. You have my word on that. I have a ton of respect for wrestlers. Hopefully he can get some press and some good schools looking at him. Tell him to keep up the good work and train hard.

AWN

Thanx guys, im sure hel appreciate all the kind words. Im so proud of him i cant even explain it. He works hard, and loves everything i do (wrestling and the gym). Glad he loves everything im good at so i can guide him to be the best he can be. He took my takedown record (139) last season along with the school wins record (34) as a freshman and is on pace to be one of the winningest wrestlers in NJ state history. He could be the #1 winningest, but there is currently a 103lb kid on a roll who is the same age (we all know lower weights are mostly frosh/sophomores) so he has it easy:mad:. I will keep you all posted as the season goes on.....

Wrestles the STATE CHAMP in exactly 2 weeks! If he loses im not posting, so if you see a post...OPEN IT haha

Props to your little Bro. He must have good skills/technique as well as strength because a wrestle with technique can almost always beat a stronger opponent. Wrestling is probably the most competitive in NJ and PA on the East Coast. Very competitive Midwest and West coast. The best I placed was 4th in North East Mid Atlantic Regional’s which was all of New England, NY, NJ, PA etc. Lots of NJ and PA wrestlers were there. Your bros at a competitive weight. All the more middle weight classes usually have the most competition 140-171 classes. If he has that good of a record as a Sophomore and places in the States he will be setting himself up nicely for Jr. and Senior if he keeps at it for some scholarship possibilities. I wrestled for 10 year sand it is the closet thing to bodybuilding I thought when it came to conditioning diet, and discipline.

Exactly....when it comes time to diet, I feel wrestlers have an advantage. All those years of starving yourself and not eating to make weight make it mentaly easier to have to eat all your meals and stay on your diet. If you can make it through multiple wrestling seasons, then a pre-contest bodybuilding diet will not feel too different.

That's great news TP4U!! Great work out of your brother for sure!!

Hes already got all my HS wrestling records... now lets just hope he doesnt beat me on stage one day :(

yeah your bro got beat by the ref , if you watch the other kid is backing up while your bro shoots, here in michigan thats stalling!!! and your bro should have got 1 point!!! As far as the takedown it was in bounds thats 2 for your bro, but I only spent 7 years wrestling and 2 years as a coach,so I'll get alot of crap for the comment(s) The only thing I see that your bro needs to work on is his level changes , but in ot he has been going for over 6 mins, Does your bro know how to run legs??? meaning a turk, splits to get alittle ride time and most schools in michigan dont teach it ,because if you get alittle high you are screwed, but on the other hand most kids get all fliped out as soon as legs are ran on them cuz they have no clue how to stop it

i think he had the takedown anyways because his toes were still in. even a
florida ref could have made that call

i used to granby when someone threw legs on me

Man, that was close. The ref should have given him a few more seconds before he blew the whistle. After he blows the whistle the guy turns, but he's still kinda fighting it before that. It was a close call, but I think it would have ended with your bro getting the takedown.

How do you granby with legs in? Seems like an advanced move. Yea, we are working on level changes..

Wow, that ref fucked him over. An easy call IMO; toes in, under control, opponent secured. That's two here in MA.
