Is this normal to have protein in your urine ? I went for a physical today and they did the strip test in the urine cup. The dr told me there was slight traces of protein in my urine and I should go get it checked out. I drink protein 3x day and I'm on test/eq and oral winny at the moment. I'm now a little worried.

Yes of course that's normal. Depending on how much is the question though. BUN measurements are hard to determine what is really high because being athletes we always over do everything anyway.

excess protein that the body can't use is passed out in urine , depending what your blood work says i doubt its an issue.

every year the company Dr tell me how dangerous over eating protein is , bla , bla , bla , how you only need about 150g a day

my liver and kidney function are perfect so until that changes I'm not sweating it

Yeah basically he gave me that talk. How I don't need more than 100 g a day. I'm still going to get some blood work done soon just to make sure.

Proteinuria is NOT normal. The normal human should not pass more than 250mg/24hours of protein/albumin in their urine. Typically a "trace" amount on those test strips is <300mg, and for it to show on a catch mid day would concern me a bit.

Protein in your urine can be from high blood pressure. You said you are taking test/eq/winny, could be a contributing factor. Elevated BP can diffuse albumin out of your blood into your urine. Athletes can have functional proteinuria. Due to extreme physical exertion & stress. Marathon runners piss blood on occasion.

If the Doc said get it checked out, and you have insurance, it wouldn't kill you to do a 24hr catch and have it analyzed.
