I like certain ones. There is no set method for it to be good because so many approaches work. For certain machines I prefer to sit forwards and/or backwards. For many I would do them unilaterally and I got up to the full weight rack with 1 arm. Usually higher reps. Sometimes partials. Often with my arms bent but for certain machines I use a straight arm slightly in front and have the top of my forearm on the pad. So many different rep systems but I do like a massive drop set. If not it will be the usual top set and back off for higher reps. Maybe a get to 40-50 reps with as few breaks as possible. Slow and controlled reps most of the time... sometimes fast paced and more erratic.
I know everyone is using cuffed lateral raises these days but I like plain db ones and also d handle cable lateral raises. I have perfected my form over the years but I do change it up sometimes set to set. Heavier bent arm laterals and a lighter weight straighter arm set. As most know the lateral head is hit best when the db's are slightly in front. There are 101 videos on you-tube showing this. I change things up but most push days I do 2 variations of lateral raises and I do one shoulder or incline press (the later hitting the front delts optimally). Recently I have added in a front raise variation between my lateral raises and that is usually a rope front raise.
