The Other Side of GLPs

Well it hasn’t been prescribed to anyone before so we don’t know what the prescription dose will end up being until it’s approved next year. I can’t imagine many people will be prescribed 15mg.

Idk about jumping up every two weeks, but I think some might be surprised what they could work up to, if needed.

I started Tirzepatide at 2.5mg per week and could barely eat. Fast forward a couple months and I was at 10 with no trouble eating. No other real side effects either.

Now, I've been doing 4mg Tirzepatide and 1mg retatrutide per week, averaging 3k calories per day, 350-400g protein, without issue.

Their food addiction, which for many of those in this scenario… it’s all they have. It’s their only source of dopamine through the day. It’s sad but true.

Jokes a side this is actually one of my problems. I look forward to having some dessert or whatever at the end of the night. One of my guilty pleasures.

This could be a definite factor for someone not wanting to take it

I absolutely miss the way food would make me feel. I still enjoy treats here and there but nothing slaps like it used to

Not sure if your shared your experience so far but do tell

How long and how much have you been on? How are the results so far ?

Thanks. I feel your pain 😅…. Well not yet but eventually im sure i will 🤔

I have shared but just a quick recap. I started a cut last September, I think it was. Shortly after, I added in Tirzepatide at 2.5mg per week, split into two shots.

Initially, it was very hard to get food in. Absolutely no desire to eat, had some nausea. It was a bad time but I stayed the course expecting sides to lessen, which they did.

As the appetite suppression waned, I increased here and there. Each step up would give me some nausea but not bad. At the end of the cut I was doing 10mg per week. For the last six weeks or so I was doing almost a PSMF with DNP at 125mg per day. I'd do a week or two on, take a week off, repeat.

Over four months, I went from a pretty soft 208 down to 168 around maybe 10-11% body fat. Yes I'm small.

I started reversing around New Year's. For the first few weeks it seemed like the scale was dropping even faster despite eating more food.

I had tried to reduce the Tirzepatide but perhaps I went a little too fast because I went way off the rails for a couple weeks 😅

So I took it back up and have been slowly bringing it down but I feel really good where I'm at now. I do enjoy cheats and stuff... It's just different. I kinda miss that feeling when you're like "I'm just going to have a taste" and it turns into a glorious binge lol

Regarding the Retatrutide, I don't remember when I added it in. I was planning to switch to Retatrutide entirely but at 2mg per week my skin got very sensitive and restless legs were making me crazy. Both went away when I dropped the Retatrutide. And then more recently I added one mg back in.

Just to follow up on my last post a bit, it's kinda hard to describe how my attitude towards food has changed. I said nothing slaps anymore but that's not exactly true... I added some cashews to my chicken and rice the other day, with some flavor gang sweet and nutty, and those nuts really set it off lol

But things I used to binge on are different. I guess you could say it's changed my tastes a bit.

Typical cheats like chinese, pizza, ice cream... They're still good but not like they used to be. And I can stop before I make myself sick, which is just completely bizarre. Someone brought donuts to work from this phenomenal local place. I'd usually put away half a dozen but I literally had like a quarter donut and brought the rest home for my kids lol

It's great for my physique goals but I really do miss just losing control sometimes.

So much for a short recap 😅

Jeez you cut to 168? What were your final daily calories? Psmf?

I was doing 1500 off days, 2000 training days. Cardio was every day, either 20 minutes right after training or 30-40 on off days. It was almost psmf. Less than 50 carbs on off days, 100 training.

The goal was just to get lean enough for a longer, much needed, growth phase

How about taking 2-3 weeks off Tirz to give your body a break and during those 2-3 weeks getting on something like Sema and switching back and forth between the two for appetite supression, anyone here tried that? Or something similar. Maybe ephedrine during the 2-3 weeks off.

You won’t really give your body a break by changing between them. The medical recommendations seem to differ by country but common ones are either to use sema or tirz until it stops working or if you reach your goals reduce the dose to the lowest possible dose and stay on it for good. I think the UK advice is don’t use them for longer than 2 years so quite a mixed picture.

I would say these are all positive things then.

See im happy with just have a taste part. Im good with eating a piece of something and not the whole thing 😅

I think it was Vigorous Steve mention taking a break and switching to cagrilintide for the continued appetite suppression and after about a month restarting. Would be curious if the break would allow you to start back at a lower/minimum dose of reta or tirz with the same effectiveness as prior administration.

Yes certainly positive things, idk what's wrong with me lol. I'm curious to hear how it goes for you and how it affects your appreciation for food. Maybe my ramblings would make more sense then

I was talking to a pro the other day and they put it a good way. “I want to want the food.” GLP’s remove the want or desire for the food. I could relate because I’m the same way.

I won’t eat it, but I want to want it. 😂

That's seriously the perfect way to put it lmao

I would almost guarantee all the top pros and gurus are using them just as they use every other tool in the box. So many common misconceptions about the glp drugs it's pitiful. Microdosing = zero issues. I shed 20 lbs in 3 weeks on 1.5 mg retatrutide while eating more than ever. A couple of advanced guys that I chat with have been equally impressed. I have been conditioned to eat all my life and actually ate more trying to fill out. The only thing that bugged me was the lack of fullness but have switched to tirzepatide and the fullness is back.

It’s a good way to put it. It’s never been so easy to say no to dessert.

That’s the crazy part that you’re losing while eating more. I’m still hungry as well, but it’s easier to control my eating. Hoping for some nice gradual fat loss on a low dose as well, without starving all the time. So far so good I’m down about 10 pounds in 3 weeks or so.

Didn't realize there's friendly food choice for GLP-1 peeps.

When the metformin craze was alive and kicking a few years back. I don't recall seeing biguanide friendly foods on the shelves.

I almost forgot why I started the thread. The food industry will absolutely have an answer to GLP’s. This is only the start.

Most people initially use GLP-1 receptor agonists for weight loss due to their appetite-suppressing effects. However, as that appeal fades, the real benefits become clear—improved insulin sensitivity, and glucose control. I genuinely think @danieltx is on the right track by using these for bulking instead of cutting right from the start. Compared to Reta, Tirz seems far superior for this goal. The reduced need for insulin, the amazing glucose levels in the morning, and the nutrient partitioning are like using Tren year-round without any of the downsides. It’s only a matter of time before more people realize that the true game is using these for bulking rather than cutting.
