if your already on a ARB and CCB, next step is to probably add HCTZ. After that, you should probably consult a doctor to switch your meds.

I have one more question is it normal for my blood pressure to still be in the 150-160 and 90-100s my heart rate is usually from 100-120 being on two blood pressure medications. The crazy thing is I thought my blood pressure would be better losing almost 35lbs in the hospital.my blood pressure is actually around the same before I ended up in the hospital.I know my heart rate is probably fucked up since I’m anemic and my heart has to work twice as hard to pump blood.

As far as cardioprotective and cardiac remodeling/longevity benefits are concerned, the first step is ARB/ACE (Telmisartan is ARB), then the second is Beta Blocker (ends in -olol). But be aware that being on a Beta Blocker conflicts with Beta Agonists like Clen and Ephedrine, and if you have asthma or a pulmonary condition Beta Blocker's can restrict airways and cause more wheezing. It's a pick your poison thing.

Yeah, Clonidine can help with both blood pressure and combatting a "fight or flight" response, usually involved in PTSD or explosive reactivity to triggers. The problem with Clonidine is that suddenly stopping it can cause profound rebound hypertension, so just be aware of that, it's notorious for this. It's not something you want to start and stop, or if you do stop it, it must be done very slowly by incremental dosage decreases. It's not really a first choice for the heart or blood pressure.
