The oddest thing, I actually had a new found level of energy which confounds me. I would think a 0 carb diet would actually leave me feeling drained. What gives?
 
you tried it for one day? How do you know your in ketosis?
 
Yeah, I think id take more than a day to fall into Ketosis.
 
Yea.....I guess I need a better understanding of the process. How long does it normally take to reach ketosis?
 
Bro it depends on individual but you surely are not in ketosis this soon.It takes anywhere from 1-3 weeks.Get keto stix from local drugstore and start checking after 2 weeks.Try checking in am after first fatty meal,wait about an hour and check your ketones.Diet works awesome,but as you get older,its my belief no carb diets are not good as you would lose too much muscle.In your teens and even up to early 30's I feel the diet works great,but its the after years:D

To get into Ketosis it takes roughly 3 days. After which is when you start getting tired but after you make it a few more days with the keto diet your energy gets real good. I did Keto for about 2 weeks and surprisingly I never had any energy problems at all during the whole thing. Guess my body adjusted so quickly that I didn't even notice low energy.
 
Would Metformin get you into Ketosis qicker?
 
Easy Guys, I realize it was a uninformed question, but thats why I asked.

I don't think it was Placebo, because I wasn't really looking for a response from my body. It was just noticeably there.

I had begun Prami 3 days prior and it could just be clarity mistaken for energy.

In any event, appreciate the humor and the responses. You gave me a direction to begin to research.:D
 
Can you describe your Keto diet? True Ketosis or low carb? IMO you need about 7-10 to get into Keto.

I know I was in it for about .......... 20 weeks .......... last contest prep and after about a week felt like $#!T for a very, very, very long time.
 
maybe he has some metabolic issues like prediabetes or something.If so sugars would have been closer to normal hence feeling better.Just a thought.
Do you normally eat a lot of carbs or simple sugars?

get some keto sticks and let loose some pee. Then you`ll know if or how deep your in keto

Correct, it take 3 days to GET into a Strong ketosis.

The more you deplete glucose(cardio or whathever) the faster you get into it.

I prefer to FAST for 3 straight days.

The best way is to check With Ketostix.

Mine are starting to get pink after 3 days.
