Hey bro, sorry to hear about your situation but thanks for having the courage to share, I’m sure it’ll reach some people and help some guys on here..
Just wanted to ask a little bit more about it if you don’t mind sharing?
I see you are fairly young for your situation (52 right?) and that can very well be a genetic issue, but you only said what you were doing for 5 years prior to that. So from 47-52 you were on basically TRT doses and eating healthy... But what about before that?
I’m not trying to come off “challenging” you or anything negative but if for example you were blasting and cruising high doses of AAS from 20-47 years old and weighing 250lbs+ at 5’8 etc then I mean, kinda brings down the chances of it being genetic as much as it pains some people (especially on here) to hear that...
Either way, it’s not to ridicule you at all but I think regardless of the answer it still helps guys on here get a better picture health wise when guys are open about their situations.. Maldorf unknowingly helped me a couple years ago just by sharing his situation on here and I’m glad he did...
Were your blockages plaque buildup or was it blood clots?
I was just re-reading this thread and saw that I did not reply to your questions- must have missed it the first time- sorry!
I never took anything prior to starting TRT around 47 years old- always trained but never took anything stronger than protein powder. I don’t think my issues were a result of the testosterone but who knows? I did spend my early 20’s drinking too much beer so that probably didn’t help
I did hit an all time high body weight of 250 around age 24. Lots of powerlifting, food and beer. Diet was pretty much whatever was in reach and not nailed down back then. Lost weight around 25-26 dropped about 40lbs and leaned out big time ( still natural )
Trained off an on during my 30s - busy with my wife, daughter , house, career. Made to mid 40s before I started to feel run down and no energy. Test was measured at 205 which is why I started TRT.
Scariest part of the heart attac was I had n signs or symptoms until a week or so before. I was doing cardio and got super short of breath after about 5 minutes- very unusual for me as I do a lot of cardio. I just figured I was coming down with a cold or something and shrugged it off. A week later it happened again except I couldn’t catch my breath and my chest felt very tight/heavy like somebody parked a truck on it. Went to the hospital BP was sky high (210/160) angiogram next day showed all the blockages. Quad bypass surgery 2 days later. I was in for 9 days total and dropped 20 lbs during that time. I couldn’t even walk to the end of my driveway at first without being short of breath afterwards- lots of pain and took awhile to rebuild my endurance. I turned the corner after 6 weeks and started cardiac rehab at 8 weeks. I did the cardiac rehab for 3 months and then was cleared to go back to work.
I now have to take a BP med, a daily aspirin, Plavix, I was on warfarin but that was discontinued. I also am suppose to take a statin but I stopped it because of the potential side effects.
I also am doing 10-12 mg test ED and 5 mg daily cialis-
Blockages were plaque buildup- No blood clots at all that I’m aware of
My only advice for everyone is to stay on top of your bloodwork, blood pressure, and get yearly checkups.
