I have read that during contest week, some people carbed up early and then dropped water the last 3 days. I can see that with the professionals or when you don't have to worry making weight. I have heard that some people's weight jumped 12-20 lbs in a couple of days. Would that be wise to do on the amateur level when you are near the top of your weight class, typically?
