Ok, it's been a long time since I've messed with this stuff and I really just have no idea how to do it anymore. What I'm trying to do is figure out how to calculate VO2 Max. Here's the formula.

VO2 max= (cardiac output max) x (oxygen extraction max)

Cardiac output is the amount of blood that flows from each ventricle in one minute. It is determined by two factors, heart rate and stroke volume. (Stroke volume is the amount of blood pumped from each ventricle each time the heart beats.)

Oxygen extraction is the amount of oxygen taken from hemoglobin and used in exercising muscles.

So, does anyone know how to calculate stroke volume and oxygen extraction?

Nobody knows? Well, at least I don't feel so dumb now.

I know stroke volume is liters pumped per minute divided by beats per minute.

I thought you needed an echocardiogram for an accurate stroke volume determination. Might be wrong on that one.

i would look it up in my notebook.... its sitting right next to me...

but i'm too lazy
