Carb Powders & Insulin Use

How high is maltodextrin on the glycemic Index? Many companies claim it is a complex carb but I've heard some say different.

I may be experimenting with insulin over the off-season so I'm looking for an inexpensive carb powder to mix up with my protein. I'd like to find swedish waxy maize starch but I cannot find it for cheap like I can maltodextrin.

I may just use NOW's CarboGain (maltodextrin) concurrent with insulin use. The stuff is cheap.

Hey bro, try www.trueprotein.com for the best waxy maize at the best prices......can't help you with the carb/insulin thing.....never used the stuff before.....

If you want a long lasting carb use the starch. Starch is just a long chain of sugar versus something like fructose wich is a short chain of sugar. I use twinlab ultrafuel, just cause I like the mix. But its really a rip off sugar is cheap a bowl of rice or sweet potatoe with a coke will work just as well. Giving you both kinds of sugar.

Indeed! Best place to get it. I used to use Glycoload but then Optimum stopped making it...weird. Then went to Ultra Fuel which I liked but nothing beats Waxy Maize from either straight WM or something like Vitargo. Fructose does not do a really good job of restoring muscle glycogen but when taken in conjunction with something like maltodextrin, its supposed to be way better. All I know is that WM is able to pull water into the muscle cells and it results in great tight feeling to the muscle which I was unable to get from anything else up to this point. WM is the way to go.
