btw a buddy of mine started deer hunting cause deer meat is in the same category as chicken, he buys bunch deer tags, he said it saves a lot of money, I wonder how much deer meat you get from 1 deer
How do you figure venison is in the same category as chicken?[/QUOTE
compare deer steak and chicken breast, deer steak has a better nutrition value and completely lacks fat compared to say beef steak, I guess I should have said deer steak vs chicken breast
Deer is a staple in my diet. Just got done eating some actually. As far as deer being cheap it's not, for me atleast. Leasing land, equipment, processing ect, it's adds up.
I guess it depends where you live and how much protein you eat per day. If you eat 300+ protein per day you will be having to 1. either look for deals on chicken breast, fish, and protein powders (if that's your thing. If you eat 150-200 per day you can get away with a bit more expensive choices lean cuts of beef, better species of fish. With that being said if you live in Canada you are pretty much fucked. The cheapest sources of protein here are canned tuna and eggs/ eggwhites.
