about two months ago i stopped working out because i got real sick from coming off perscription medication cold turkey that i had been on for years. i couldn't really eat i had to force food down my throat and i still have a problem eating i only eat about 2 meals a day and they're real small because my appetite sucks. i lost 15 pounds and pretty much none of it was fat because i didn't have much fat to begin with. but i've been anxious to start working out again but i know i'm going to be depressed with my performance just last night i tried curling and i couldn't do as many reps as i usually would be able to do and i was using a much lighter weight. my question is, when i start working out again which will be this week, will i be able to get back to the same strength and weight relatively quickly? and my appetite is just rediculous i've been drinking boost, it's kind of like ensure, just because i can't eat much at all, will my appetite get better just from the working out? also, i was reading something about gaining weight and it said something about drinking a gallon to a gallon and a half of water a day, would that really help gain weight because i heard somewhere else drinking a lot of water is a good way to loose weight because all the water drinking supresses appetite and you won't eat much.

ive always heard that water makes u lose wait. good luck 2 u though.

I was sick sometime in December and had lost some weight and a ton of strength. Took off two weeks and been having a very hard time getting back into it. But I did, I had my first good week of working out since being sick this week. Just push through it and know it wont last. I still looked fine but the strength thing was messing with my head something fierce. It does come back pretty quick I would say give it 3 good weeks of training and you should be back or close to normal again, at least thats what it was for me.

totally

yeah im with enanth' this past nov/ dec i trained maybe 2 times and ate fuck all(drinking alcohol ed) personal probs. any way stayed home new years eve, and now 13days later i am back to 215lb, no gear, although strength is lacking.

also cardio will actually boost your appetite more than resistance many believe. a cuople 30min walks a week?

Check out Synthetek B12 for appetite.

It seems we all go thru these doledrums from time to time. The only thing IMO to do is take a break, regroup your thoughts and come back with a fresh approach. Overtraining is a reality in any sport. especially weight lifting, BBing and strength sports. You sometimes do not even realize it's happening cause your on the training merry-go-round and can't or don't want to get off. I used to think the world would end if I ever missed a training day. Now if I miss one I realize that it was a good thing to have that extra rest day. You will not shrink overnight. After all it is the rest that counts. As for water, a gallon a day sounds pretty average. I drink aprox. 8-10 liters per day offseason and 12-15 precontest. It does help shuttle fat around in the body and keeps your strength up. So drink up!! It also helps with retention.
