Hi. Been picking Massive G's brain for the last few years, figured I would come over and see what else I could learn. I notice a lot of familar handles, (I was once a member of mesomorph.net when I first started 5 years ago).
Some of you might recognize me from the other boards I'm on, namely musclemayhem, musclenexus, and ironaddicts.
Some shit about me:
I'm from northern Alberta, I recently opened my own gym, I train low volume high intensity out of necesity due to my Crohns disease, I'm 5'10" 248lbs with crappy arms LOL. Just got married this August, life is good. I'm also friends/aquaintences with some of the top amateurs and pros in Canada (Ron Partlow, his training partner IFBB Pro Dan Fedeluk, and IFBB Pro Dan Dufresne, who recently did a seminar in my gym last month). Can't think of anything else to add, except that with my shit genetics I've gone from 160lbs with lower body fat (probably a little lower than the 10% mark) to my current weight, but around the 18% mark (tested a while back at 21.5, but definetly much leaner since then), all while using a low volume, high intensity aproach. (Did high volume my first year, got nothing but tendonitis all over my body!) I also had a rough year last year with pancreatitis, that caused me to drop around 25lbs of muscle, and it took close to a year to get it back.
I know that I haven't gotten my training pegged down yet, and lately I've been thinking in similar directions as to what is being talked about here ie: train with low volume, high intensity, repeat as soon as possible. Sorry this intro got so long winded. Anyhow, I hope to sit back and soak up the knowledge that's being thrown around here like candy.
