How much money do you spend on food per month? (for yourself)

Family of 4

My wife and I have two young daughters but they don't eat much. We spend in the neighborhood of $1200/month on food, which includes cheat meal of 5 to 6/month eating out. Our meal plan consists of fresh chicken breasts (no frozen), tenderloin beef (prime or choice only), Halibut ($18/lb), lean ground beef with lean ground pork, shrimp 31-40 count fresh or frozen, and tons of fresh fruit like berries, apples, strawberries, banana's, asparagus, sweet potato, red potatoes, broccoli, and other popular Asian veggies. We eat beef almost everyday and fish 3x/week. It doesn't take long to have high grocery bills when we buy only top graded fresh meats and produce.

Thank god top round and eggs are cheap. During my prep my food bill is way down. Most expensive thing is my Macadamia nut oil and isolate.

Now off season when I'm a fat ass. 50$ all you can eat sushi can make you broke! Lol but believe me I eat way more than my 50$ worth

Theres a 12 $ all you can eat sushi and hibatchi place near me haha I loveee it.

Bur I spend 40-60 a week on groceries for myself and sometimes my girl

Jamie and I spend $250-300 per week all year round. So $1000-1200 per month. I eat probably 3/4 of it.

I am with flex I have a family of three and my food bill averages $1200 a month. That counts groceries and eating out and toiletries . I am sure I eat about 3/4 of it.

I'm in the 400 a month range, roughly 33oz of meat per day plus 2.5 cups eggs whites. Doesn't include rice, beans, eggs, oats, oils, things like almondss & Chia seeds.

I spend about $120.00 per month in Meat and I buy it all at the beginning of the month. Then I spend about $100.00 per week for everything else like milk, eggs, rice, ect.

This pic was taken 2 months ago when I go home from the local farmers market and I only spent $90.00

$400-500 a month

Protein: Eggs, TeamSkip powder, chicken breasts, canned tuna, 90/10 beef, Greek yogurt cottage cheese.

Carbs: Brown rice, bags of beans, oatmeal, pasta, Ezekial bread, Ezekial cereal, fruit and veggies

Fats: Olive oil, avocados, almonds, coconut oil, and fats from the above meats.

FYI... TeamSkip protein powder is actually a very cheap protein meal source, it works out to about $1.26 or something for a shake for 50g of high quality protein! That's hard to beat in the grocery store.

I eschew fancy foods like lunch meats, deli meats, steaks, expensive fish, etc. I rarely if ever buy any junk foods, or restaurant foods... as they are generally way overpriced and not good for your health or physique.

I look for sales and "manager markdowns" whenever possible. I buy in bulk and use coupons whenever possible.

Food is definitely the biggest ongoing expense for a bodybuilder... I do whatever I can to minimize it, but I love to eat.

Right now

Grass fed beef $5.99lb x 5 lbs week
chicken breast $1.77lb x 7 lbs week
free range eggs $3.50 dozen x 4 dozen week
2lbs hydro whey week x $35
Trader Joes Jasmine rice $3.50 for 6 cups x 3
cod $5.99 lb x 7 lbs week
jar almond butter x $6
14 avacados = $14

about $163 a week

652 a month roughly

Let's see
organic raw grass fed milk at $10 gallon x 2 + a 2 gallons of premium gas to get there and back at $4
organic fertile eggs at $3 /dz x 6
organic grass fed beef at $7 lb x 7

....never mind I don't want to know
