That is not a very good question......just sayin.........maybe do a little research on omega-3 fats and see what the consensus is......I don't think its a question that can be specifically answered. I would research niacin and HDL, LDL, VLDL levels.

Sorry Phil, I did not mean to sound ignorant. But I have reseachased and all I can find is recommended amts by the manufacturer. I have tried up to 3000mg's per day which contain 900mg active EPA/DHA which has not helped. I was just wondering how much others had to take before it helped.

I think Phil was trying to get you to learn that Omega3s have much more of an impact on triglycerides than cholesterol. He did mention niacin ....

I agree with Phil. Too many variables. But 300mg of active EPA/DHA is almost nothing not matter how you look at it.

1200mg of EPA & 600mg DHA is a good minimum starting point. But again, there are so many variables. For example, if we focus only on the Omega 3's, what else are you consuming? And how are these effecting your absorption?

Myself, I like to stay around 2400mg EPA & 1200mg DHA total including food sources.
