I'm through 1/2 rack baby back ribs, 2 chicken legs, a protein shake, a sweet potato, and a chicken breast and I'm still famished. How do you all stand eating so few carbs? Tricks of the trade, anyone? Bueller, Bueller?
 
Yea that "cheating" thread got me thinking. What do they consider cheating? What do they usually eat? I guess I'm lucky that I've always been really lean and could eat whatever I wanted and not get fat at all.. Even now, I'm trying to put lbs. on before a cycle in May and I eat ANYTHING - plus protein shakes w/ milk.. I've put on 20 lbs in 2.5 months and my abs are still very well defined, so not much of it could have been fat.. I don't eat much junk food tho or soda, but I drink alot of Kool-Aid so I'm definitely taking in alot of carbs.. What I'm doing must be a good ratio of carbs/fat/protein tho, cuz I've been wondering if I was gonna put on any fat - but it's not happening.
 
Your response to low carbs is really genetic. Some feel hungry all the time, some feel light headed or tired etc. You should get a bit more used to it as time goes on but some people have a harder time than others. Try some hoodia to reduce the hunger feelings. Good luck

lol, true. I don't drink THAT much - maybe 32-48 oz a day? Before I started this little plan, I was so thin that I just said I'm gonna take in as many cals as I can, and I don't like drinking alot of soda, so I decided on Kool-aid (it's only 60 cals per 8 oz). And I've been waiting for the 1st hint of me starting to put fat on, in which case I'd switch the diet up immediately.
 
I wouldn't worry about it. They don't have that much carbs and apparently they're good carbs. See this article:

if you eat 250 grams of protein, 50 grams of carbs, and 50 grams of fat, that's only 1650 cals.... you'll be as hungry as hell...
i would suggest you go about it by starting at 10-12 cals per lb of bodyweight if you aren't over 15% fat (less if you are), with 1.25-1.5 gr of protein per lb of bodyweight, 50 grams of carbs per day, and the rest coming from fat...
so, if you are 220 lbs for example, that would be around
275 grams of protein, 50 grams of carbs, and 100 grams of fat... this would be MINIMUM (for someone that big, especially if he is muscular)
this would ensure that you get enough cals to function normally, but still have a deficit to lose fat, and you won't be hungry.

for me personally, sugar free chewing gum and coffee kill my appetite... i only eat 4 meals a day (around 2000 cals total) and it's very low carb (20 grams per day)... i never feel hungry when i'm drinking coffee or chewing gum... if i don't have my gum/coffee fix, i'll be extremely hungry in 2 or 3 hours.

Thanks, that does help. I got on the scale today and weighed 217 lbs, too... and I'm at around 15% body fat. On a cycle, though, so trying to keep protein high and cals around 2500... more cals on workout days. Should still trim off some of the beef steak and make lean gains around this number.
 
All I can say is eat vegetables that fill you up and contain all the micro nutrients you want/need.

For me, I really love haricots verts. Lots of iron, vitamin C and potassium, and one of the few vegetables I actually think tastes good.

I eat them with salmon, pouring the fat from the fish over them and add some spices. Like eating healthy low carb french fries.
 
Yea vegtables almost take more calories to digest then you get from it. Personally I hate cutting carbs really low. Good thing I'm bulking

This is not true for the majority of vegetables. There are several tricks to low carb diets, my version is so different then the standard versions .

um welllll... do you wanna look good? suck it up thats the bottom line to be quite honest.... i do zero to low carbs for 6 days to week half on the reg i do as low to zero carbs as i can go then have cheat mea, then continue back to my diet the next day.... it is what it is lol...just go till you feel like yiou cant go anymore then have a cheat that cheat meal should last you another 3-5 days...

i just had 10 egg whites grilled chicken little salt n pepper scrambled, with alpine swiss... lunch will be salad and dinner will be steamed beef with cashue nuts n mixed veggies if not then just steam chicken....
again if you want it you will do it... thats what gets me through the days... the outcome well overweight's the steps in the procedure....
