I'd say he knows a thing or two and not only about helping other people get in shape. Honestly, I think I like seeing the guys from overseas and the UK better than the guys in the states. They always look incredible.

YouTube - NEIL HILL WEMBLEY

 Dang...he's ripped to shreds. I agree, it seems those overseas and in the UK take far more pride in their conditioning. He's nailed it!

Conditioning is rewarded more overseas.

Guys in the states get shafted all the time when they show up in shape.

Judges here seem to reward size and "potential" more than hard work.

His conditioning is incredible. Striations everywhere.

Thanks for sharing that vid - I have always liked what he brought to the stage

Incredible conditioning for a natural... Awesome physique!

taking politics totally out of the picture, i think judges here are judging "bodybuilding" not a dieting contest (sorry had to steal phils words again...LOL) and I will use you as a prime example, the shredded shelby should get his ass handed to him by the current shelby if i was a bodybuilding judge :)

I agree, but I'm sort of an extreme example, weighing 30+ pounds more but still having striated glutes.

I'm thinking more along the lines of top National shows where guys without any lines in their glutes are winning classes and shows (Jr Nats this year was a good example - the middleweight winner was the softest in the top 5, and the overall winner DeLarosa definitely wasn't in great condition. He's a phenomenal bodybuilder but was not hard at all..).
I can see both sides of the argument though, and obviously the winner should not only be shredded but also have oustanding muscularity, balance, etc.

im not arguing with you so don't take it that way but i want u to picture this, the super heavy's walk on stage at nationals all with shredded glutes and then you throw melvin anthony up there with them, would they beat him cause they have shredded glutes??? levrone, dillet, wheeler, cormier, priest all never had deeply shredded glutes, some had some lines some years and others they just had distinct seperation, you think they should all get beat by shredded glute people, you have been around palumbo too long shelby...LOL JK :p

honestly bro this is bodybuilding! the guy with the best balance of size, shape and symmetry should win.. the three S's, none of those S's stand for striated glutes, or shredded. conditioning will influence size, shape, and symmetry.... sometimes making the 3 S's better and sometimes (when emancipated looking) will hinder the 3 S's. hope that makes sense as im kinda out of it right now...LOL

Again, I agree. Makes me wonder why your boy TT doesn't place higher though. He's got oustanding size and shape, but never comes in shredded. Sounds like a recipe for a top spot to me :p

I dont mean to butt in but just wanted to clarify my position. I dont recall anyone (that matters :D) saying that being only ripped with shredded glutes is the end all be all and should be winning. When Im talking about it im saying.....size, shape, proportion AND having lean glutes and hamstrings.

structure faults like his nerve damaged triceps that he hurt playing semi pro football, that is one of the reasons, and not getting "HARD". lee preist may not have had shredded glutes but he was very hard looking ie. not holding much sub. water and his muscles popping against his skin. really we are just tossing back and forth as me and you both pretty much agree on the same things, you just tend to hold conditioning to a slightly higher degree, while i hold shape and structure to a slightly higher degree... the key word being "slightly".

im just giving examples of guys without lines in their glutes that win or place very well on the pro level that didn't really have shredded glutes, lee priest being one of them.. and melvin anthony is another great example... that is where our discussion came from... and main.. i agree with your above statement 100%. i just think that a mans ass is getting a lil too much emphasis put on it now a days in bodybuilding. listen to any play by play of any national show its the first thing that is mentioned by people like dave palumbo. who the fuck cares, put lee priest up there without a single line in his ass and he would smoke any national level guy and palumbo at his best and most shredded ass ever.. ha ha ha ha ha ha.. its fucking "bodybuilding". please break that word down to its simplest meaning :p

In spain the "diet contest" thing is carried to the limit, people have to be facing death to compete at novice class at regional shows and it´s crazy hard for stablished competitors to make gains from year to year because knowing that they have to be ultraschreded in a years doesn´t allow them to make substancial changes... it´s crazy, I think they push to make the prep guy bussiness (here the personal training thing is not too big)

by the way on the original subject of this thread... neil hill looks freaking great.

When I started watching the video I thought he certainly suffered, he looked painfully lean. Incredible conditioning.
