Anyone use them in their back workouts? They take a bit to get used to (proper positioning for best lat recruitment, etc.) but I find them to be a great back movement.

One gym I train at has an old Nautilus pullover machine, and the other has a Cybex. Both are great.

we have a nautilus pullover at my gym and it gets used quite a bit...i personally love it

I have not used one in awhile, but I do like the machine if you position yourself correctly as you said. Just need to focus on the movement.

lat pull down

we used to have one at my old gym- loved it -something about the elbow on the pads kept me from cheating and using my arms- could really feel it in the lats- just blew me right up- I used to go as heavy as I could

When I finally moveback to the 1st world u'll find a second hand nautilus pullover in my garage, I've been dreaming of owning one for years as hardly any gyms outside the US have them.

Maybe it's my body, but most of them feel awkward. I get better lat recruitment using free weights. I've tried three different types in my life, but can't name them off the top of my head.

I like to use it first. Helps me focus on contraction for all other movements.

chest for me....

i use it but more fore chest. i squeeze my pecs hard at the completion of the pullover and feel it much more in my chest rather than back.

This is what I have been doing as well.

It's also what Dorian did.

I use the Hammer Strength one almost every back workout for this exact reason.

I have a hard time with most back movements that aren't rowing or some sort of deadlift. Pull-overs really help me to either pre-exhaust my lats or finish them off when I am doing width movements.

I like both the Cybex, and Hammer strength. I use it as a finishing exercise and also as an FST-7 exercise set as well.

I too have always found pullover to work chest much more than back... maybe because I used to do it on an incline bench with a dumbell.

And I say "used to" cause I'm definitely done with that movement... two bad lat injuries convinced me to give it up for good.

Maybe the machine is safer though...

the nautillus machine is great, but i like flat bench barbell pullovers the best at the end of both back and chest. you can learn to flex and control either one to move the weight. its well worth it

Love the Nautilus pullover for back width. Hits the abs quite a bit, but a great change from chins/pulldowns.

love them... they really brought my back up and my buddies who started using them. Did them last movement with higher reps. I think the old school pullover machine works the best though.

getting some work in on the natilus

it was hard to find a weight that I could do without feeling like my chest was starting to get involved, but it was a great finishing exercise for sure.
