Sharing Workout Music With Each Other

An idea came to me today while working out...

I never use an iPod when working out, I just usually listen to the club-junk over the PA. Today, I brought my wife's iPod. I think I spent an extra 10 minutes trying to find "fast" songs going past all my wife's "love songs." :)

It then occurred to me, out of the hundreds of songs on our computer, we don't have that many fast songs I would want to work out to. "Man, I could spend a small fortune on iTunes downloading all my favorite workout songs."

Here is my idea/question- What if members here could upload their favorite workout songs for other members to download?

Possible problems/legalities/etc
-I don't know if someone would need to offer their website to host these songs. I'm not sure if it could be done here.

-This leads to copyright: I'm not sure of the exact laws now regarding sharing music with each other. If a friend owns the CD, does he/she have the right to share/give it to another?

Open to ideas and opinions. Thanks.

Well uploading them for others to download would be considered pirating, but we could make suggestions and then other members could acquire the songs by whatever means they choose without implicating this forums in any copyright infringement.

Slow in some areas...

you ever hear of torrents? fuck paying $1 for a fuckin song!

As much of an average techie I like to think I am, I am still slow in some area's. I didn't know there were music torrents, thought just movies.

There are torrents for everything bro. Music, movies, books, audio books, comic books, applications, pictures, porn, etc. You just have to know where to look.

i think you can share/download music online for personal use.

My Mix

Just a couple of my favorites...

- The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die
- Du Hast - Rammstein
- Outkast - B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad)
- Korn - Got the Life
- Puscifer - The Undertaker (Renhold Mix)
- P.O.D - Set It Off
- Justice - Phantom Part II (Soulwax Nite Version)
- Crystal Method - Name of the Game
- R.A.G.E - Bulls on Parade
- Paul Oakenfold - Ready Steady Go
- Chester Bennington - Morning After

Heads-Up:

Torrents are 100% legal, if they are linked to NON-Copyrighted materials. If they are linked to copyrighted content, then using the torrent to download it IS illegal, just as downloading via limewire/frostwire.

Hypothetically, you could use a site like Playlist.com to retrieve coughdownloadcough the music you want to listen to free, although not encouraged of course.

To add to my last post...

Open to ideas and opinions. Thanks.

You could create a playlist at... Playlist.com and link people to your profile/playlist to see what songs you listen to... {insert my previous post}

this is good...

People are putting idea's together... ultimately then, I am wondering if there is some kind of "loophole" if sharing with friends. One poster mentioned something like this, but it would need to be fairly concrete in understanding.

Who knows, most probably this will all be to difficult to do...
