Still confused about proscar, please help

Big a said to me that proscar is good, it will protect the prostate.
But i have read somewhere that, when you take proscar, you must have check-ups with your doctor. He checks if the prostate is not swallon. But, If it protects to prostate, a swalloning prostat sounds not very good i think.
How can it protect the prostate if it can cause swalloning???

And on this board, there are procycles, but, proscar is never in it!
So, i think it's not good for the proscar.

The only reason you should have checks for prostate swelling is that they assume you already have a prostate problem, thats why you are taking the proscar. It does not cause swelling; likely it does the opposite in reducing/preventing swelling. Use it in cycles with alot of test in it.

What's alot of test?
1g a week, 3g a week?
