This is ODD!

A buddy of mine received a domestic package yesterday from a trusted friend. It contained a total of 12 bottles of stuff. On the outside of the mailer was written "SCAN" in black pen and then right next to it was stamped with "72". The "72" was in purple ink and it was within a small circle.

Now he is nervous, but I told him that if the USPS had any problems with what was in the package they most likely would not have delivered it.

Any other opinions?

If the government knew of the contents of your package then your friend would already know it. They would have done a controlled delivery asap.

The "72" was probably nothing more then the package getting scanned and stamped somewhere down the line.

In a situation like that where you think there my be a problem with LE just dont open the pack for about 4-5 days if you get a knock on the door you can say I have no knowledge of the content or who sent it... thas why I didt open the pack. Iwas ging to take it back to the post office and return to sender...

I remember years ago in my town a story that made the front page of a small town news paper. This older couple recieved a pretty big /heavy box in the mail. The husband who was half blind opened the box and inside where 3 kilos of coke. The wife called the police and the cops discovered the box had been mistakenly delivered to the wrong address... the intended adress was the next door neighbors... now thats bad luck.

Its nothing I'm sure. Dont worry. Just regular postal jargon.

I told him not to sweat it, but he's concerned because it's pretty hard to miss those 10cc bottles if it was x-rayed!

Scan was probably written on it by the carrier. That way he knows to scan it delivered when he drops it off, assuming a domestic delivery has delivery confirmation on it. Not sure about 72.

I do not know what planet you live on but what you just typed was grown right out of fantasy land my friend.... ask Rick Collins or simply read his book.

LE will NOT buy the "i dont know what it is" line... and as long as YOU POSSES the package and its a controlled delivery - YOUR GOING TO JAIL.
"I was going to send it back to the post office and return it to sender" will not work.... You posses it, you pay the consequences. Period.
I have been there done that. Seen it done over and over and have 2 friends who used different "excuses" to try and cheat there way out of jail ... and guess what? They all accepted the package... they all physically touched it so they ALL got arrested.

So.. as i said before... if LE hasnt already smacked this guys door down and ruined his life by now... its not going to happen.
