So I was having some acne issues mid-summer of last year, but it wasn't like small pimples. My dermatologist had to excise the area because they were like little knots on my jawline.

She said it can be a result of drinking whey protein. I had never had it happen before but cut them out and didn't have any issues. I used to use whey concentrate, so I ordered isolate this time to see if that was maybe it.

Nope, having the same issues. Anyone else ever deal with something like this?

I have never had that issue. I have gotten stomach issues using Optimum Nutrition Whey Concentrate Gold Standard. Whey isolate is much easier to digest for me.

Are you eating other dairy foods? How do they affect you?

Typically it’s the lactose that causes digestion issues due to lack of body enzymes that can break down that sugar. Some people don’t have enough lactase (enzymes that break down milk sugar or lactose) to digest dairy.

Consider trying muscle meds beef protein or even the hydrolyze whey isolate product that is partially digested already.

When it comes to skin issues studies show milk and whey proteins can cause inflammation of the skin. They haven’t been able to figure out why.

Dairy in general will cause my skin to start breaking out, even a quality whey isolate, so I do my best to stay away.
