Need some help from you folks..

I've had ADD my entire life, gone mostly untreated.. I need to get on some meds and I have a Dr visit Monday for bloods and to mention this.. I don't do well with stims, so any ADD meds that are a stim is not an option.. Mind you I have ADD , not ADHD, which is kind of the same but not..

Ive used anti depression meds over these years off and on for a few reasons, and some seemed to help, but the sides with those meds are awful..

I have a ton of work related things in my life that are playing a toll, family matters and such, it its hard to just have a convo without my mind slipping away, heck watching a movie I black out and have no clue what just happened for the past 5 mins, my thoughts are jumping all over..

What adult ADD meds are avail (Im not well rounded in this area)? Theres a few I seen that actually work to treat ADD and high blood pressure, which can assist will being on cycle..

Experience, feedback, thoughts would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance ladies and gents!

I take adderal for add and to jeep me focused and productive. I know you said no stims, you kinda get used to it and don't really feel the atom effect once your body adjusts. I love the stuff and mad I didn't have it through my school years. I also take atenalol for bp and it also helps my anxiety. I also take klonopin for anxiety. Pm me if you have any questions. Hope you find something that works brotha

boy we need some remedial reading on neurochemistry...

"stims" when used in a medical way actually kinda sorta have the opposite effect, meaning THAY ARENT STIMMY! lol

the "stims" are exo dopamine dude...
all they doing is jacking up dopamine in a kinda sorta more stable way n that kinda sorta allows you to focus on the shit you need to do, life/tasks can be kinda sorta more enjoyable...

IF using in a propper way while they are stims they are sort of calming... its hard to explain but if you actually have fucked up head shit you know exactly what im talking about...things are "better" when you get that chem...

i think it was you, maybe im mistaken who said you dont like to read or search...:banghead:

MAYBE spend a lil time with that... i BET there is some info previously psted that could help! :lightbulb:

Listen I don't know who you are or who you think you are but just answer the question?

I never said I don't like the research and fact I will probably School you with a lot of stuff I'm simply talking about something I'm not familiar with when it pertains to AD ,this is the third time you have tried to criticize me for absolutely no reason that's unwarranted, I have a lot of Articles published online with a lot of topics but I'm humble enough to openly admit I'm not familiar with this specific topic, I'm fully aware of the secretions in the brain and neuro chemicals... When I mentioned about not doing research hours referring to not looking you up because I don't give a flying fuck on who you are or what you're stressing.. every time I make a post you try to turn it into a cesspool just answer the question..

For reasons I will advicate again I do not want stimulant because maybe I know something you don't but I'm not going to sit here and get into a pissing contest...

If you have no experience in this topic with utilizing these chemicals that I don't want to hear your input..

The poster above you is a prime example of what a productive member should be he answered the question with Clarity unlike you with insults..

Please do not waste my time anymore because you're not as important as you think you are and this may be the only community you belong to but I belong to several others.. I have never had anybody speak to me in the fashion that you have and it's actually embarrassing for the community.. try to act like a mature adult because your behavior is extremely bizarre..

I'll see you later alligator...

Have u tried Lanvexin? I had insomnia issues, that were blamed on depression aso also went through a bunch of anti depressants , and adderall to, cus according to my doctor ADD helps certain types of depression. My cause was actually the gear, anger and some anxiety. Lanvenxin at 75 gives u good mood, and 150 makes you kinda in a very good mood and a bit hyper. I think here in the States in Venlanvexin. the only side effects i had the beginning was inability to finish/get an orgasm/ejaculate...nomater how horny and hard u are, or it takes at least 20-30 mins non stop

Thank you for your feedback.. yes I have used effexor and I recently just came off of it because I had serotonin syndrome, we had to let everything clear out and I'm going back on it again at a lower to moderate dosage I was using it concurrently with Buspar.. I actually like the way it makes me feel mentally but unfortunately physically SNIR's and SSRI's really wreak havoc causing ASD, and I've also noticed a decrease in free testosterone levels on blood work, furthermore they tend compete with the same cyp2d6 enzyme, making tamox us less in my protocol when I need it, basically disrupting and rendering it useless with its functionality.. But that's the nature of the game it's give or take sacrifices..

But I definitely plan on going back on it Monday when I see the doctor.. I just dislike the ASD sides.. I've also noticed that my plasma prolactin levels were significantly higher as well.. I have a considerable amount caber on hand, this will definitely "assist" in this department.. unfortunately there's always going to be a trade-off in anything that we do but ultimately what comes down in the end is what are we willing to sacrifice!

You just told my story because that's how I feel at 150 I think it was a bit too much for me.. but I love the feeling I get it's almost like a warm fuzzy feeling.. I have a lot more clarity and my focus factor is definitely improved.. but I'm definitely intrigued on the functions of ADD medication, as you and me both know it's trial and error..

Effexor will definitely be your drug I'm going to utilize for some time..

It's funny, because I'm often advocating the over zealous prescription writing with doctors giving people these sorts of medications because a lot of instances it's not necessary, but then there is the Selected Few where it truly does give assistance and balance when needed.. I was never a fan of anti's, but here I am as an adult and I can see and recognize the importance and the pivotal role that they do possess, I just wish that Physicians would stop giving them to every individual that stresses life difficulties.. I'll tell ya what, TRT has been the ultimate life hack, and I'm glad to see more Physicians and endocrinologist are utilizing this for depression and other mood disorders.. we have came a long way in that department !

I am going to guess that you have seen a doctor about this and the advice didn't help you? How about a psychiatrist, since they are actual medical doctors specializing in the brain? I would think there have to be some really good ones somewhere in your area. Would a neurologist be able to help, probably not?

Now you're speaking my language, a physician is only qualified so far and in fact I think we can all agree that each and every single one of us has had a bad experience and questioned our physicians recommendations.. I have considered seeing a specialist but hearing it from the outside makes me take it into great consideration, I definitely agree with your suggestion..

Let me ask you though, how would I approach this? I mean I understand some psychiatrist and psychologist are known to be script pushers and that's something I'm trying to avoid.. when I mentioned to my physician about the focus factors and difficulties I'm having he gave me pamphlets and booklets and samples of antidepressants, smh.. I may go back on some nootropic compounds in the main time, I have some noopept and semax but that stuff only work so well for so long..

Hey Vision,

I've done some research on the topic at hand and have similar symptoms, however not quite to the same extent. More so just fast paced, yet disorganized thinking at times, makes it a bit of a challenge to study or stay on task at times.

Have a look and research into L-theanine, Ashwaghanda, Choline, inositol, and possibly modafinil and phenibut (tread lightly with this one).

I've found these are beneficial to me, mainly for helping relax and slow my thought process down to a point where things flow much better.

Also consider getting your FULL thyroid panel done. Sounds strange, but since researching into John Chrislers work, many of his articles make sense and show how important thyroid function is for not only just physical health, but mental processing and function.

I would see if he would refer you to a good specialist like a neurologist or maybe a psychiatrist. Psychologist wont do you any good since they cant prescribe meds. I don't know which choice would be best. I'm thinking maybe neurologist. If he wont help you find someone, I guess you could hunt on your own as long as your insurance doesn't require you to get a referral.

I would stick to the specialist. Like you said, the general practitioner has limited knowledge with that area.

I really appreciate you extending yourself and giving a methodical and detailed response it's greatly appreciated, I knew I could come to this community specifically and regards to this topic and get a very detailed response.. there's some very well-rounded individuals here and several of you have clearly displayed that and that makes this community even better..

If you don't mind I'm going to shoot you a private message to pick your brain apart and regards to this topic would that be okay?

I consider myself an antibiotic scholar however on this specific matter I have a lot to learn especially being a subject of it..

I'm going to meet with my physician Monday as planned and I may need a referral from him...
I'm definitely curious to see if this medication is an option, but someone else mentioned to me this evening about looking into therapy that practice is meditation again that's an area I know nothing about.. but it's definitely intriguing because after all we do live in a fast-paced society and a lot of our worries and troubles are self-induced and that could be congesting my mind, is it add or do I need to just slow down and breathe...hmm?!?!?

My GF is prescribed Vyvanse for her ADD. She doesn't want to take adderall because we are both sober and she did not to use stims. She likes it but says it's expensive.

I'm sober as well my brother and that is why I do not want to use the stimulant, also with other underlying issues but that is definitely one of the main factors.. I'm going to do some research on your suggestion, I may not rule out stimulants entirely but if I can find one that is on the mild side I will definitely take it into great consideration but I don't want something that's over the top Gonzo Bonzo...
