Core training

Can anyone explain to me why all of these pansy ass Know nothing trainers are training each and every client, especially female clients, with this stupid core training and the idiotic blue ball? Also, why do all women believe STILL that light weights will give them the body that they want? Every woman I train argues with me about going too heavy. I am to the point now that I turn down clients that complain about training heavy.I REFUSE to train whiners, crybabies, complainers, and questionaholics. They all seem to not believe me, sayin gthat I am a bodybuilder and they dont want to ever look like this.
Another thing. I have a friend that I give advice to. He is very heavy but thinks he is muscular. I wrote him out a diet, training. HE tells me the other day that a bouncer at the club gave him a routine and a diet tha the is going to follow. I told him to NEVER EVER EVER ask me anythig EVER again. Do you guys understand where I am coming from?

So he takes some bouncers advice over yours? What a dope!
Its probably the pizza and beer diet, wont require as much disipline as yours did. Id be pissed too! It really makes me mad too when I struggle to write up some plan or advice for rsomeone, then they argue that they would rather do this or that instead. They can go fuck themselves!
Women! They seem to think that they will wake up one day all muscular and ripped-they dont understand they just dont have the hormones for that. And they can just maintain when they reach a certain point of muscularity if they feel its enough for them. Plus its an excuse not to train hard!

well Phil

I understand all too well where you are coming from. People ask me questions very similar to your friends all the time and when i honestly answer thier question they either give me some uneducated remark that really makes no sense, or they still think I am lying to then becuase bodybuilders have the reputation of being ego driven, narcaccistic , lying a-holes.

If I were I would just stop giving out advice. If they ask you any type of training question just give them a short general response. If they has how to get cut-up, just ell them to diet. if they ask you how to build muscle, tell them to lift weights.

There is no sense putting yourself through all that headache when they have no idea what the hell they are doing. The bouncers routine will probably do jack shit and then he will coem back to you asking for your advice and if I were you i would tell him to go back to the bouncer becuase he has all the answers.

And with women, just don't even waste your time. it isn't worth the hassle.

People are always looking for the easy road...

No one understands it takes hard work to acheive the look they want. Whether it is hard work in the gym or hard work dieting, you need to have the desire to reach your goals, not ask around for the easiest way to do something. THey think going 30% of max heart rate for 20 minutes is the best way...or lifting light weights and never advancing up in weight will keep their body tone. Also, never changing their routine...they don't understand the body adapts very quick you need to keep shocking it in order to get to where you want to be. Ok sorry I know all you know this already...SHIT JUST PISSES ME OFF.

HMMMMM, I think if PHIL gave me a diet and training routine, I would know it is the best for me. Then to stab him in the back by taking someone elses advice...what an asshole.

Yeah

Cracks me up when women say : " Oh I do not want to look like that, just be toned, so I will do cardio every waking hour of the day....weights will make me look to big etc..." HAHAHAHAHAHA FUCKING HA!!!! WTF ever! why do they think they all have the genes to be Mr. O? Or the hormones no less? Do they understand anything? Why is it that so many guys cannot even acheive this muscularity, and they even juice!!!!! But oh no, if these women train w/ weights, watch out right? LOL..

And Phil, If ANYONE starts to tell you they got somehting else figured out or want to try this blah blah blah, FUCK 'EM...

It's really so simple...

If most people would only...

Train regularly, no if's and or but's about it.
Train HARD.
Not eat the shit they know they shouldn't if they want to be leaner.

...they would get damn near where they want to be.

I hear ya Phil. I always take teensy baby steps with people, e.g., first stop eating eating ice cream every night. After a few of these changes, they will sometimes get frustrated b/c I am not giving them the "master plan" to look like the soloflex guy. When I ask them if they have been doing the above, the answer is all too often "no."

We are a society of magic bullet seekers, unfortunately.

My advice would be to only engage yourself with the person to the extent that they are engaged with you, the advice you are giving and their dedication to achieving the goals they have set. This is hard, I know, b/c you have achieved so much in terms of your physical person, with such sacrifice, that its hard to dumb it all down for the less dedicated.

As far as the core stability training - I can't stand that shit, too. What' so damn fuctional about doing 3 lb dumbell pullovers on a giant balloon. Frankly, I think its a distraction technique to avoid the fact that exercise hurts. There is a trainer at my gym, a very nice woman, who proudly displays her core training certificates on the wall. You can barely tell she exercises.

FYI, there is research showing reduced muscle activation when trying to exercise on a Swiss ball.

!!!!

When I was personal training full time, I made all my clients sign an agreement that basically said if they did not listen to what I said without question then I could cancel their agreement with no refund. As a quality trainer you do not have time to be questioned and doubted. If someone did not agree to comply with all my methods, training and diets 100% then I would refuse to train them. I do not have time for that shit. I only want to help people that want to help themselves! I won't even help my freinds out with diets or workouts unless they promise to follow exactly how I plan it for them. NO LISTEN>>>NO HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know you like being nice and helping out people.

Unfortunately people's faith in the advice is equal to how much they paid for it.

That is the main reason I quit giving free advice in the gym and on the boards. ASK me " HOW DO YOU GET RIPPED" and then the minute I give detail " BUT I READ THAT , AND SO AND SO SAID, AND THE PROS DO IT" fine fuck off do it your own way but don't make me waste my valued gym time or emails when I could be looking at porn answering your stupid question when you already think you know.

AGAIN....BECAUSE I AM FROM A HICK STATE....

....IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE....I CAN'T F_CKING BELIEVE SOMEONE WOULDN'T LISTEN TO YOUR ADVICE!! WHAT THE HECK??? HELL, I HAVE BEEN LIFTING 18 YEARS AND I TRIED YOUR TRAINING METHOD FOR TWO MONTHS THIS YEAR, BUT WAS TOO MUCH OF A PUSSY TO FULLY RECOVER BETWEEN WORKOUTS. <MAYBE I WASS DOING SOME SHIT WRONG...HAHA> IF I HAD THE CHANCE TO SIT DOWN AND REALLY SHOOT THE SHIT WITH YOU THE WAY YOUR BOUNCER FRIEND WAS ABLE TO....I'D SURE AS HELL HANG ON EVERY WORD AND GIVE YOUR SUGGESTIONS A FAIR TRIAL.
MY GIRLFRIEND LIFTS HARD AND DOES ALL THE SAME SHIT I DO...BARBELL ROWS, SQUATS, DEADS, HEAVY PRESSING. SHE LOOKS LIKE ALL THE WOMEN IN THE GYM WOULD LOVE TO LOOK LIKE.........BUT, NONE OF THEM WILL DO WHAT SHE IS WILLING TO DO. THEY KEEP DOING THE SAME EASY SHIT THAT PRODUCES ZERO RESULTS. THERE ARE SOME STUPID ASSHOLES OUT THERE AND IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU TRY TO TELL THEM. PHIL, IT MUST BE FRUSTRATING AS HELL FOR YOU. I AM A NOBODY AND GET SICK OF PEOPLE TAKING UP MY TIME AND THEN NOT DOING THE THINGS YOU SPEND 2HOURS WRITING DOWN.

Damn

I have gone thru the same thing more times than I can remember. There were many interrupted workouts due to handing out free advice. The funny thing was, the women in the gym would watch what I was doing and then I would see them doing the same things. Very few would ask questions though.

There was a trainer that worked at my old gym that used those damn stability balls for eveything. He had people doing all kinds of crazy shit with them. One day I asked what the purpose of all that horseshit was and he said it was to work the stabilizer muscles. I asked what the logic was behind devoting entire workouts to working all of those little muscles. He couldn't give me an answer, LOL. First time I saw the guy he said he could give me some tips on how to get stronger. That was until he saw me lift. At that point he said he couldn't help me. No shit, Dick Tracy! LOL.

I no longer give out free advice.
