Diet discussion

I've always been a hard gainer, so maybe I'm speaking from a different direction than a lot of these guys.. I eat a shitload of carbs, and a moderate ammount of protein and gain well. I think(just opinion here)all that matters is coloric intake compared to spendatures, and having available amino acids, and blood sugar. How you get those things could be thousands of ways, but from my stand point, high calories/carbs, some fat and some protein does the trick. The hard part is living a life and eating the required ammount of meals,

gimmejuice has some good points. I'll summarize mine:
1) Eating EXCESS calories (of any macronutrients) will put on body fat (unless you're of of those genetically-gifted bastards!)

2) I believe that if your protein intake is higher, more will be available to build muscle (an anabolic state).

3) I believe in the "timed carb" theory as your body DOES utilize carbs, but not all the time. Times when it does:
After a workout (moreso from weights but also cardio)
Upon waking (system is depleted from nighttime rebuild - glycogen depletion - well somewhat)

4) To some extent, while you're working out.

For "ME," there still a fine line when I exceed my maintenance calories. Eating more calories using protein as the basis tends to put on muscle. Exceeding "THAT" amount *which seems to be a VERY fine line for me) puts on FAT.
