eat when hungry concept?

This concept is so simple yet works very well...

1. If you eat when you are not hungry, you will get fat.
2. When you are hungry, you need to eat.
3. Do not project how many calories you need, it changes day to day. No one is that smart.
4. Find out what ratios you need or DESIRE for the look you want.
5. Make your body hungry and do things to make it desire growth.
6. Relax and let genetics do their job.

i'm too dumb too plan out meals and such, so i always follow the eat only when hungry attitude. for me it doesnt result in anything drastic as far as dieting or muscle building, what i do notice is consistency. i gradually lose a bit of bodyfat while increasing lean mass. i believe this gradual change puts less overall 'stress' on the body - making it easier to maintain the muscle gains/fat loss.

the only time i actually may plan some food intake is before and after a workout (at those time i feel carbs are important) - and towards nightime if i become hungry i try to eat mainly protein and avoid carbs as much as possible

I've always stuck with the 2.5-3 hour rule with the exception of eating for what I will be doing in the next few hours. If I plan on taking a nap for 2 hours there's no point in eating 80 grams of carbs so I'll stick to mainly protein, maybe some almonds and an assload of veggies. Dr. Fred Hatfield was a main proponent of this and it works quite well for obvious reasons.
Saying that I have however incorporated Phil's method of eating when hungry(about every 4-5 hours) with a protein shake in between and I must say it has made a dramatic difference.
 
Thats what I did for the the show I just competed in with great results. I hired Phil and let him do all the thinking for me and I just did as I was told.

only when i actually stuck to some sort of schedule, weighing my food, and planning my meals in advance was i able to make some definite progress.

I see Jay and Ronnie eating every 2-3 hours in their videos and Weider said I have to eat every 2 hours so I don't care how fat and nasty I look I'm not going to think for myself.
I'm NOT going to eat only when I'm hungry GEEEZ....I'm going to eat every 2 hours get fat and work out double split routine 6 days a week with 50 sets per body part and get huge....LOL:D

I follow Phils advice as well, and still have a schedule. I weight my food according to my macros Im supposed to be eating. I have all my meals planned out in advance and just grab one when Im hungry... if I have extra at the end of the day then less preparation for when Im hungry tomorrow. It doesnt get much easier:)
 
I like to eat when I'm hungry. Even better is sleeping when I'm tired! Works great!

Yea I still weigh all my foods and have set macros per meal just not a specific time of when to eat it, I let my body tell me but it's still almost scheduled cause I never really go longer than 3 hours without being hungry, and sometimes it's every 2 hours I'm hungry
