IM FUCKING SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING TELLING ME THEY CANT DO THIS OR THAT AND THAT THEY CANT REACH THE NXET LEVEL ,,,,,,,,,,FUUUUUUUUCK THIS PISSES ME OFF , DO YOU PEOPLE REALIZE WHAT RONNIE LOOKED LIKE AT AGE 30??????????????????????? I JUST SAW A PIC OF HIM IN A MAGAZINE FROM 1995 HIM AND MILOS LOOK VERY SMALL AND RONNIE WAS 30 OR MO,,,,,,DO YOU GUYS THINK RONNIE WOKE UP ONE DAY AND LOOKED FN HUGE NO WAY , THE SHIT TAKES TIME IT TAKES HARD HOURS AND ENDLESS AMOUNTS OF EXERTING WORKOUTS WHERE THE SWEAT BURNS YOUR EYES BUT YOU KEEP ON PUSHING.

YOU WANT TO GET BIG YOU WANT THE NEXT LEVEL WELL MAKE YOURSELF ACHIEVE IT DANM IT, YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE MIND SET THATS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING , BELEIVE AND MAKE YOURSELF GROW , NOW SOME OF YOU ARE LIKE WTF IS HE TALKING ABOUT ,,,,WELL IM TALKING ABOUT THAT FEELING YOU GET ON A CERTAIN DAY WHEN YOUR ALL PUMPED UP AND EXCIDED TO GET INTO THE GYM AND TRAIN THEN A FN WEEK GOES BY AND YOUR BACK TO A SOMEWHAT HALF ASS WORKOUT,,,,,,, HERES AN EXAMPLE LOL ITS KIDN OF LIKE CHRISTMASS , YOU FEEL VERY EXCITED AND HAPPY AND CARING AND PEACEFUL THEN A WEEK GOES BY AND YOUR BACK TO SWEARING AT YOUR WOMEN TELLING PEOPLE TO FUCK OFF ON THE ROAD BLABLABLA ,,,YOUR MIND HAS TO BE IN IT ALL THE TIME CONVINCE YOURSELF TO GROW GET FUCKING PISSED AND AND FIRE YOURSELF UP.

I TRULEY BELIEVE MUSCLE GROWTH IS A MIND GAME, I HAPPEN TO BE ATTENTION DEFICITE DISORDER BUT THATS A BLESSING IN DISGUISE WHEN I CONCENTRATE ON 1 THING IM IN A ZONE AND LOCKED IN THATS HOW ADD WORKS THATS WHY WHEN IM IN THE GYM IM NOT DISTRACTED BY ANYTHING.

TOMORROW I WANT ALL OF YOU TO PUSH YOUR HARDEST EVEN IF YOUR CAR DIED OR YOUR WIFE IS PISSED OR YOU ATE TOO MUCH OR YOUR JOB WAS STRESSFULL ITS ALL IN YOUR MIND.

IF I COULD SAY ONE THING THAT I THINK IS WORTHWHILE ID SAY "BELIEVE"

People don't realise that the only secret in this sport is consistency.

man

I agree with this 100%

I really think the most important thing in training going is having postive attitude and a burning desire. I don't know if its cortisol or what but when i'm uptight or deressed about things my results suck...and this is even if i'm training hard and eating ok. Sometimes you go into the gym sayin' to yourself i wonder if i'll be stronger today. and then be pissed if ur not.

But when I have a postive attitude 'I KNOW' i'm going to be stronger, and if i'm not i know i will be next time. When your in the zone, anything about bodybuilding should be exactly like a little kid getting presents from Santa.

I really believe that a person's mindset can make all the difference in the world even when other factors are held consistant. Although a positive attitude usually makes u do the other things better too.

the mind is a very powerful thing

thats it bro you hit the nail on the head , great post i like your way of wording things.

People have no idea how strong the mind is...as soon as you start saying you cannot do something...you are more likely not going to make it. If you look at that Chicken breast all plain and nothing on it and say I cannot eat that..well, you probably never will and you will not make it to the next level with a negative attitude.

So every morning when you get up tell yourself positive things...start the day out right.

I too have ADHD...it is good for training...and a night o poker with the fellas. My mind is constantly thinking of new things and ideas, but if something negative pops in, I get rid of it ASAP.

BE POSITIVE DAMNIT

vander good fuckin post!

thats right ya'll! whoever goes to the gym on this board (all of you) how much do you mean it? how bad do you want it? ha!!! thanks vander fo da post i cant wait to train tommorow !!!

arent u glad that i showed you that pic of ol ron coleman?? haha

Damn thanks for the pep talk bro! I just got back from incline benching 705lbs for reps then proceded to deadlift my car for a clean 37! :D

Midset

One of the worst things I find that GREATLY affects my training, is when I get down on myself, about anything, be it training, or other distractions in life.

Another thing greatly affects my training is when I question how or the way I am training, if I am doing such and such right, if I should be training a different way, with higher volume, lower volume or etc..when ever that happens, it puts doubt in a persons mind...

But during periods that I am extremely motivated, I feel I can train non-stop without overtraining, and sometimes I do, I will start training with a double split routine training 2 x day 5-6 days week and be stronger every time out, but then it happens...one of the two above scenarios creeps into my mind and I have to kick my ass to even make it to the gym 3-4 x week.

put me in coach, im ready to play!!!!!
frk

man you couldnt be more right. Everyone seems to be lookin for the magical dose or the magical pill that will make them wake up the next day 20lbs heavier. Yes im guilty of playin with high doses (1g test) but i quickly realized its nothing special. Iv been OFF for 5 weeks and im only on creatine, but guess what i kept my diet consistent trained my ass of and i GAINED weight and strength post cycle. Goes to show its not always the gear but YOU. These last few months have shown me what really works and how its really done. Im learning as i go, its great to have inspiration like this thread at my young age, that way im not learnin this same shit 5yrs down the road and figuring its too late and time wasted. ADD here too guys lol. Maybe that shit is good for our sport haha.

I refuse to say i cant do something. Iv always believed in my own abilities and refuse to give up. Learned it from day one in wrestling. I know we got a lot of ex wrestlers on here.... tell me you cant still remember the days of tryin to make weight. Your starvin ur ass off cuase u aint ate in over 24hrs ur 2lbs over chewin gum n spittin in a cup takin tiny sips of water throughout the day while being pulled out of class to ride a stationary bike down in the boiler room of the school tryin to cut weight for periods at a time. Hit the wrestling room and run and drill during lunch period, before and after school. Then go home have MAYBE a tiny tiny bit to eat for dinner but u feel guilty so you put the garbage bag on and hit the road runnin for an hour. Come home pass out cause u know u gotta be up in the AM to make weight lol. God the stupid shit we did when we were young that ended up makin us tough as nails in the end lol. As stupid and retarted and bad as this sounds its taught me to never give up and persurvere(sp) through pain anguish and any other barrier there is to meet ur goal. Best thing that coulda happend to me in life.

Good post Vander. We must think alike on this issue anybody can do anything they want in life if they want it bad enough. Financial, Career, Education, etc. Never let anyone keep you down or let yourself keep you down. A postive outlook at life or small goals are key. Right now for me it is career but I still will always workout it is a part of my life.

Good post Vander. People need to realize it's all in your mind. I knew guys in BUD/S who would think of themselves as robots so they could separate themselves from the pain and fatigue. Kept going no matter what. My buddy Noel went through Hell Week with Pnemonia. Wouldn't quit for anything.

Alright i dunno if we can compare with special forces lol, they are inhuman. I remember the contest held at the mall by me, theres a new car... you enter and put ur hand on it, last hand to come off wins it. People fall asleep quit etc. . . tuck their hands in between tires so it stays when they pass out. Navy seal won. When the last person passed out n fell off the car 3 days later he was standin there with his hand still there smiling while people were layin all over the floor. Their state of mind is just unreal.

i relized it a long time ago...

i'm still trying to implement it.

spoken like a champ dude! no one ever achieved physical greatness with a weak mind. I'm reading The Developement of Physical Power by Arthur Saxon. It was published in 1905 and he talks repedly about having 'sound costitutions' and working hard. He repeats the idea that one must have narrow minded focus, never losing site of the goal, to be a champion. Great book if you ever want a quick easy read. All from a guy who one arm pressed 370 pounds at 200lbs BW in 1900. pretty cool.

great post.

get to work yall!

TP4U, I think you just made my point. They're not inhuman. Just focused on the goals at hand. When I went first enlisted, I was just a regular fuck up. They taught me how to harness the desire and block out anything else. Anything is possible. It's all about your focus.

Vander, the words bad ass and completely true, even when motivation is at its peak. Thanks man.

TP4U-The wrestling talk always reminds me of the winter time and that fukn rank ass smell of sweat and the wrestling room. Nothing better than a room full of sweat, blood, and hard work.

Hard work always beats talent when talent doesn't work very hard
