O/T: Opinions on St Louis

I'd just like to get some opinions on living in St. Louis. I just got offered an incredible position, about 6x what I'm making now.. but I only have a few days to decide and I have absolutely no clue about the area. Atlanta would be the alternative.

Right up my alley.....I grew up in St Louis and now live in Atlanta. Keep in mind I haven't lived in stl since 96...but have visited frequently (family is still there). My personal option would be atl...depending on what you like. More international/cultured in Atl...lower cost of living in STL. Crime rate on paper is about the same in both places, but if it makes sense I "feel" it more in STL. I think ATL in general is a bit safer, more nightlife in ATL, both places have nice restaurants. They are actually finally building up the city in STL..for the longest time only the suburbs were growing and everthing in the city was going away..hope this helps some

I live near St Louis, its economy is doing ok considering the whole country. Also its a great sports city, fans here can be fanatic. North St Louis does have some crime problems however. The suberbs around the area are all nice, sprawling and you can reach the city limits in 30 to 45 mins.

Golds gyms everywhere but very commercial. Climate can change in an instant, 90s in July, 20s in Jan. Lots of traffic at rush hour but not as bad as Atl.

Lived in the Central West End for a few years in the late 90s. Thought the city (places like Clayton, the "second downtown") would be a great place to raise a family. Was single and young at the time, so was a bit boring for me.

If the job had anything to do with finance, drop me a line. I also still have a lot of friends that work at A-B and other St Louis firms.

I lived there for 4 years during college, LOVED IT!! Great downtown area, the city is really into its sports and good suburbs surrounding it, if you wanted to get out of the city. My girlfriend is from there, we visit every 6 months or so. Always something do!
