piece of glass fell inside the amp, advise

Hey fellas, as I cracked the top of the amp off a piece of amp glass fell inside the oil. Is the solution contaminated with possible bacteria from outside the amp. Should I throw it away or is it okay to use, what u guys think?

That depends have you left it sitting on the counter all day wondering if you should use it or did you draw it up into the syringe already? I have had that happen a few times and the best you can do is inspect it for smaller pieces that may be sucked into the needle. You could use a filter on it if need be. But if your certain it is just a larger piece then i wouldn't have a problem still using it imo.

avoid sucking it up into the syringe obviously. The BA content of the inj should keep it bug free.

Little pieces of glass is what always bothered me. Has not happened a bunch but out of the times it did I only junked one amp. Depends on how desperate you are

Glass in the liver...

USE A FILTER... we break open Fentanyl ampules on a regular basis at work- we supposed to always use a filter to draw it up.

Even if you give a very "clean" break and don't physically see glass in the ampule, it's there. When examined under the microscope for study, cadaver livers have been found with glass in them. The only deduction was glass ampules.

As far as the bacteria- always wipe with alcohol around the neck for 15 seconds, and then use the wipe to help break it open.

I always use filter needles to draw up amps. I read a study they did on animals that been injected with meds from amps and after a few years they found tons of tiny particles of glass inside them so they now use filter needles to draw up.

dont use amps, just for that reason.
