I see a lot of training methods out there. Some say work each body part twice a week and some say work them once a week. Now I look at DC Training and see that if we work ea body part twicw in 8 days we grow more then working each body part once in 14 days.

My question has to do with the volume. If we work a muscle twice in 8 days but only do 1 working set, why is that better the working a muscle once in 14days using two sets.

Don't you work the muscle the same amount of sets and reps once the year is up?
 
i think DC has said that if you grow 1/64" from a workout, its better to recover 64 times in a year, rather than 32 times per year. not his exact words but along the lines.
 
It is clear that overtraining is not helpful

But juicing phucks up the equation.

I got very excited about ( i think it was John Littles ) power factor training where you do 1 set to failure once a week per body part. He claims some guys put on like 35 pounds and great size in a few months.

From my experience it was total bullshit. Your body knows
what it wants to do on juice. Just avoid the ego that puts elderly tendons and muscles at risk and you will be fine.

They talk in the book about Dorian Yates limiting hs training and the positive affect that had on him but they don't let you know where he was pharmacuelogically.

I'm not sure how old you are Tough Old Man but all that lines up behind the food for my 40 yr old ass. I am absolutely dieing not being able to get my food together properly to be able to worry about recovery.I have too much going on right now. It'll come around though
