i saw a vid on MD with jose raymond and he said he basically reverses the order of his exercises for his chest, like cable flyes, flat flyes, incline bench , flat bench.

i was wondering if anyone has any success in doing this and not starting out with bench squat deadlift?

ya i do this most of the time especially on leg day. i do calves then leg extensions then leg curls then leg press or squat. it seems to work better for me.

Hmm might have to give this a try. Would you keep the weights heavy in the first movements then progressivly decrease weight like you would on a normal day?

Like for biceps

Heavy conc curls
heavy/moderate preacher
moderate/light BB curls

I've switched the order of exercises before. Like my leg workout this week,,I typically do Quads,Hams, and then Calves. This week I did Quads 1st,,then calves,,and then Hammy's. All my hamstring exercises I performed better possibly from switching up the order.

gonna give it a try this week. i really need to bring up everything lol.

some like pec deck, falt flyes, flat bench , incline machine...some like that

I think it helps w growth. Ive always switched up the order of my exercises,to keep it fresh, and to help equal the growth of a particular region of a specific muscle imo..

On every exercise on leg day I start light with high volume the work up to heavy weight low volume.

It also helps avoid injury. Alot of guys don't check their ego at the door, and when they are fresh try to bench as much as possible. At the end of the workout you are already tired and can only bench so much, and I feel you get a better muscle contraction.

I never start with bench or squat or deadlift.

That's a great way to hurt yourself.

Look into John Meadows' Mountaindog training - exercise order is very important for making gains and maintaining longevity.

I find i can leg press more if i dead lift first and i can dead lift more if i train shoulders first. If it the cns being fired up or just the body getting a feel for heavy weight i dont know. I used to always put the big stuff at start of workout in the mindset im fresh so ill lift more, experience has taught me otherwise
