I'm with the good DrG, intensity is every fiber of your body focused for the duration of your reps/set so at the end of it no matter if it is one rep or 30 reps you cannot get another
If you have enough intensity you should be able to go to muscular failure with, for example just the bar on bench day (Parillo method I think)
Intensity is something I strive for every workout but I don'r always acheive it for one reason or another, maybe that it what truly separates us in our physiques
