Why Europa?

Kind of a random question, but what is the connection between bodybuilding and the word Europa (as in Europa Orlando, Europa Dallas, Europa Super Show, Europa Expo)?

Considering that Europa was a a Phoenician woman raped by Zeus in the form of a white bull, it just seems like an odd choice of names.

Yes. Europa and LoneStar are the two big ones. Europa sponsors a lot of these shows.

Europa is enormous. Most of if not all of them are put on by Ed and Betty Pariso. Europa is far and away the biggest distributor in the USA. Lonestar and Musclefoods(formerly USA Sports) are not really even close.

They sold the powder form in the 90's and then in the late 90's they made a shit load off of Renewtrient, and they sold the soma too.

Interesting.......I believe they had a publication promoting all the benefits of the two products. I used it and liked it way too much.

Weird I can still remember when Europa was 20 guys from Charlotte led by Eirc Hillman...to see now how big that company is just blows me away.
I still remember the promotion they sent out one year with a group photo of all the employess, bunch of meatheads and Eric Hillman was one of them and he had a cast on his leg that was camo.

Yeah thats way back, that was my 'pre juice era' I can remember belonging to a gym called King Bee Fitness had a jacked up bee on the front and on the back it said 'SHUT UP AND LIFT'.
Our Europa driver's name was Mark, sometimes if it was late on his route he would come in and lift at the gym after the delivery.
Years later while working my current job he showed up, back working as a driver, still training hard and big as fuck.
Good ol days.

I used to make it back in the day, when it was legal, and sure enough, I got physically addicted to it. Coming off of it entailed panic attacks, and hearing voices a few times. Once they made it illegal, I never touched it again.

I had gotten some from a friend a while back. It sat in my fridge for a few months. I took two bottle capfuls before bed one night and woke up extremely disoriented. I needed to puke really bad. I couldn't find my way out of my bedroom not could I find the switch to turn the lights on. I finally made it out of my bedroom and then I couldn't find my doorknob on my bathroom door. After I finally found the toilet and puked my guts out I was fine. I threw what was left down the sink and never touched the stuff again.

Soma was 1,4 butanediol which had some killer withdrawals. I used to manage a supplement store in Charlotte back in 99-02. One of the biggest guys I've ever seen was Lin. He died in a car accident five or six years ago I believe. Great guy, may he RIP.
