I have been off fish for a while and I wondered what you guys were eating

List your top 3 for a bit of fun

1 WHEY
2 CHICKEN
3 TUNA

I used to get buffalo top round steaks. They're very lean and weren't priced too bad at $5 $6 an lb. That was my main source of pro for a few years.

I love buffalo I just watch what % fat is the cut. I read labels for everything.

I like turkey burger patties ... high protein, juicy and low fat.

black angus beef

14% fat black angus ground beef....don't fear the fat....my stength went up after eating this consistantly, bodyfat did not change.

1 - Grass Fed Beef - high CLA - fat is 50% Omega 3's - awesome source of protein

2 - whole eggs (enhanced by feeding chicken flax seeds and kelp for Omega 3's)

3 - whey protein isolate

Those 3 items produce consistent positive results everytime

I do in fact fear the fat :) , don't get me wrong Beef is my favorite meat, but the cuts are really fatty, I assume mine must be grass fed as for beef I usually use the organic butcher, but for chicken I have been using the supermarket of late, for example the other day in an other butcher near me I bought some extra lean minced beef, and when I cooked it it was fatty so I through half in the bin.

I have never eaten buffalo, I have eaten venison which is quite lean, osterich which is lean and once or twice kangaroo, I know a butchers shop around 10 miles from my house that sells exotic meats, including snake, zebra, yak, wild boar and aligator.

In eating a lot of protein, I do get bored of the same old lean cuts, same old fish, same old chicken.

For a quick healthy snack high in protein you can't beat (for me) smoked Kippers. great taste and something like 17 to 19 grams of protein per little tin can.

Venison
Wild Boar
Whey

For those tha dont eat wild boar, look into it.

Nutrition Table

Typical values based on per 100g portion of Raw Meat

Choles/Protein/Sat Fat/Unsat Fat
55 / 26.1 / 5.2 / 2.9 Wild Boar
62 / 19.6 / 11.2 / 4.1 Beef
71 / 16.6 / 22.5 / 8.3 Pork
57 / 20.5 / 4.3 / 1.4 Chicken

EGGS, Chicken, Beef, Fish!
It's funny that only one other here has mentioned eggs. They are unbeatable (pardon the pun) for true protein and complete protein at that. So eggs tops the list of foods for me!!

Eggs, tuna, red meat. i seem to get the shits from whey, no F'n idea why...even cold filtration isolate...still comes out in chunks? possibly digestive issue?

Ditto! same as me and in that order also..LOL

I'm with OldFella n B boy. minus the fish till closer to a show. Whey is a quick fix, but my body rips through it fast.

My first choice is chicken, ground turkey, lean beef, I also eat fish closer to a show. Whey is totally last on my list

I think some may rely to heavily on whey protein as a staple choice in thier diet and quest for protein. The number one source for protein should be whole foods first and then powders second. after all they are called "supplements". Most of us seem to know that you can not replace whole food sources for proper nutrition and growth. I just wanted to put this out there for any of our younger players and less experienced lifters here. Food first, supplements second!!

I did not mention eggs because I am allergic to them, can't go near them, total bummer as they are a really good source of protein, cheap as hell and very easy and convient to use, it take's a few minutes to boil an egg and you have a nice little meal, I struggle to find anything that convienent, so I pre prepare chicken and keep it in the fridge, I am always stocked up with tuna. I do use a lot of whey however, I have 4 flavours of whey on hand and mix it up daily, although I love the chocolate flavour. I when dieting make MRP with my own ingredients using whey adding fiber and fat and it's really effective.
